Alta Marea Shore - Meredith Lodging

You’ll enjoy birdsong and the continuous roar of the ocean at Alta Marea Shore, a 2,800 square-foot home high in the treetops beside a wooded ravine and overlooking the sea. With loads of natural light and sunny, playful decor, this two-story retreat will charm you with its elegant but casual style. A comfortable ocean view media room with a large flat-screen TV/VCR/DVD and two pull-out sofa sleepers shares the entry level with two queen bedrooms with access to two decks, one with an ocean-facing hot tub. Upstairs, a beautiful great room with a vaulted ceiling awaits. Ample couch seating and a long window seat, dining table and breakfast bar will accommodate everyone, and a TV/DVD/Stereo for entertainment. The sky lit kitchen has granite tile, a gas range, stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring and pretty glass-fronted cabinets. The adjacent king bedroom primary suite has ocean views and a balcony for enjoying both sunsets and morning breezes. With two living areas and bedrooms on separate floors, it’s easy to imagine sharing this home with family and friends. Beach access is a block away on a quiet residential street, and the Lincoln Beach location puts you right between the many wonderful activities in Lincoln City and Newport.

Great place for a stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The place has a great view of the ocean from most rooms and the hot tub was really nice to have. The fireplace and TVs had some issues that couldn’t be resolved during our stay but otherwise a great find for a vacation.

Perfect for our family with teens

Very spacious house with two living room areas, great kitchen, plentiful bathrooms, and queen and king beds. Not to mention the hot tub and a quick walk to the beach. The house isn't perfect (mild imperfections) but in a comfortable, lived-in way -- not dangerous or gross. It was perfect for our family of five in that it gave us all room to spread out and relax between our beach and hiking excursions.

The view was way better then the photos

Really great views from both floors of the house. A few updates are needed with the deck's front and back. The inside of the house is laid out really well. Overall was a great stay and would recommend. The online pictures of the view doesn't do it justice.

Great location, needs lots of maintenance.

We loved the location and proximity to the beach. The weather was outstanding. This could be a great home to stay at. It is not very clean, needs a ton of maintenance. Decks collapsing in front, back deck is in bad shape. All the walls need painting. Carpets are worn out and stained. Found dried contacts on headboard, vents are full of dust. Really this place could be awesome, but it is not being maintained. Even technology is 15 behind and WiFi is so bad we had to hotspot from our phone. If you are looking location it’s a good one.

Our stay at Alta Marea Shore

We had an amazing time! House was clean, communication with mgr was prompt. Would go again! Bad-no cover for the hot tub/bbq, kitchen was poorly stocked w/o hot pads, dwnstairs was FREEZING. But everything else was amazing. 8.5/10

Enjoyed our stay, few minor cleanliness things

Stains on a couple white curtains downstairs, no towels in one of downstairs bathrooms, only 2 large glasses, railing a little run down, fake eyelash under couch. There was also a note about Natural Gas on door.

I wish it would say dogs are allowed

The house was very nice but when we went to shower the tiwels smeled like dog and the sheets. When i had sent my husband to buy laundry detergent and dryer sheet the dryer smelt sooo bad i refused to use anything from it. The walls need to be cleaned. The house is beautiful but the cleaners arent doing their job.

Poorly Maintained

I feel compelled to write my first review of any product or vacation rental. This property has a lovely view of the ocean. Sadly, the inside was not as lovely. The carpet was absolutely filthy and smelly. We had to leave the windows open even during the cooler fall nights to help reduce the odor. When we arrived sinks in both bedroom suites drained so slowly it was hard to imagine they could have been cleaned prior to our arrival. We contacted Meridith Lodging who immediately sent very competent and polite people to resolve the drainage problem and fix the gas fireplace which also wasn't working. When we went to enjoy the hot tub we discover that only two of the four seating area jets were working which wasn't a problem for us because we only needed two jetted areas. We almost didn't get into the hot tub because the lock was nearly rusted shut which required using some argon oil I brought with me to avoid breaking the key off inside the lock. To make our soaking less enjoyable surrounding all of the ground below the hot tub it appeared someone had emptied all of the contents of their trash can making it look as if homeless people had been there. If these problems were resolved we would recommend this property, however presently we can not.

The strewn trash may have been from an animal, but apologize you had to deal with this. We do schedule deep carpet cleans several times a year, and will have our local team assess the carpet.
