Old Forge Fourth Lake Cottage

Palmer Point is one the oldest cottage colonies in the Adirondacks. We have been in continuous operation since 1895 offering cottage and boat rentals. Palmer Point is close to all area attractions, but in a quiet, lake front setting. Sights include hiking trails, horseback riding, Enchanted Forest/Water Safari water park, The Wild Nature Center, river rafting, restaurants, Inlet Golf Course, Thendera Golf Course, on Fourth Lake, Fulton Chain of Lakes, movie theater, gift shops, souvenir shops, ice cream stands, Arrowhead Park events such as July Fourth fireworks, Black Fly Challenge race, bike rentals.


Features safe, gradual sand beach, beautiful 180 degree lake views, large dock, pond, stream, and acres of private woods adjoining State Forest Preserve. Plenty of Wildlife.

Boating on five connected lakes. Rentals on premises of Sailboats, Pontoon Boats, Rowboats, Outboards, Canoes.

Fishing - Large and Small Mouth Bass, 6 species of Trout, Pike, Muskies

Close to all area attractions, but in a quiet forest setting. See the sights, then totally relax.

The Lake House is directly on the water with a screened-in porch providing gorgeous views of 4th Lake and the Adirondack Mountains in the distance. It comes fully furnished and includes a fully equipped kitchen.

The beach has the nicest sand on the lake and is great for swimming.

We have a variety of boats for rent. For your convenience, we have a private boat ramp, if you need to launch your own boat, as well as plenty of trailer parking.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Cottage was as advertised, and had every thing we needed for an excellent week; beach and lake right at our front door, large screened-in porch, gorgeous lake views, an inlet water way for duck and frog activity, campfire pit, kayak use, near hiking trails and restaurants, well equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, and space heaters, as the Adirondack night’s got chilly a little early this month.Hosts were available to answer questions, help with the grill, and they stopped by with an extra space heater!

ADK Respite

We had a fabulous stay at Palmer Point! The Lake House is an old time Adirondack cabin that was just what we were looking for. Cindy is a great host and had lots of suggestions for us. We were the only ones there the week of Sept 4th so we had the beach and property to ourselves. It couldn't have been more relaxing. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place with us. We can't wait to come back!

Space? Yes! Comfort? No!

Very rustic, lots of space but the living room furniture wasn’t very comfortable. The metal roof above the bedroom with twin beds made the room very loud during rainstorms and difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

No numbers on camps. No one to great us. Camp smelled of propane because it ran out. Someone left a burner on. We had whole day with no way to cook. Electric heater for the chill. No hot water.. Place was not very clean. Firepit was full of water and old branches. After we cleaned it up etc it was ok. Screens were busted. Spider webs every place. A whole bag of crap from the gas grill. We certainly left it cleaner then we found it. Would of been a nice gesture ti compensate us one night. She offered to pay the dinner bill but doubt that will happen. Nice view and great to be with family but the place was allot to be desired.

Old Forge rental

Cindy was extremely helpful and wonderful to deal with. Nice location. House is camp like. Didn’t like the fact we didn’t have private fire pit, or boat slip

Ahhhhhh!

The pictures of this cottage are very accurate, yet pictures can't capture the feeling. This cottage is right on a sandy beach with shallow entry into water. Perfect for kids or just wading. Super comfortable loungers and a large dock with Adirondack chairs for enjoying your favorite beverage. The screened in porch came in very handy. My favorite bedroom is the upstairs room, literally over- looking the lake. The Lakehouse is in a small compound of Palmer Point. Perfect for our family gathering. Owners are great to work with and very friendly. You will not be disappointed.

Loved our stay

Stayed at Palmer point with my family and just loved it. The screen porch was great, loved getting up in the morning, sitting on the porch to have a hot drink and enjoy the lake. The adirondack chairs on the dock are great for enjoying the mountain view and listening to the loons.Furniture on the porch is very comfortable as well as the living room furniture. The camp is spacious with lots of seating. Very clean, newly remodeled bathrooms. Love the claw foot tub upstairs. Really has that adirondack feel. Great place for a family reunion. The camp fire pit was great, large logs for seating and roasting marshmallows. Enjoyed getting to know the people staying in other camps. The beach is so nice right out the porch doors, great for kids. Very nice to have the pontoon boat rental right on the property, don't have to lug all your things to the car and then to the boat. It's right out the door! New owners are right there to accomodate any needs you may have and are continually improving the property. Would highly recommened.
