My Lady and myself were very comfortable we're very happy with the location and hope to be able to book the room again for next year's 4th of July

Nice hotel room in a great location

This is nice hotel room in a historic house about a 1/2 mile from Main Street. We love staying at this place when we are in St. Charles.

The property needs some attention. The sun shines in very bright through the windows in suite 301and it doesn't have room darkening blinds. The water temperature was warm at best so the shower was not a good experience. We had the handled turned all the way for hot. The bed sheets were dirty. We had to lay down towels since we arrived late after day of shopping in St. Charles and didn't want to deal with trying to reach the host at that hour. The bed was uncomfortable and we both with stiff backs.

Pictures on ad are not accurate. They are Deceiving . Foyer entry rug was stained, dust all over the fake tree in the entry. Staircase leading up to room was beautiful. Once entering the room it was nothing like the pictures on the ad. Blinds were broken , carpet was stained, bed cover had dirt on it, paint on wood trim is coming off. There was no threshold strip between the carpet and the bathroom tile. The carpet was frayed and dirty leaving it a trip hazard. Tiny fridge in the corner with a microwave stacked on top of it with the coffee maker on top of that . When making coffee it kept blowing the power strip, we kept having to turn it on over and over. Dresser drawers janky. The road noise outside the window was VERY loud that included loud vehicles, police sirens and yelling random voices . Its not in the best location for sure. Fire alarm went off late at night because someone was cooking in one of the other units.The host messaged in App and said to text him with any questions. I did, he did not respond. It took over four hours for him to respond on the app and then he didn’t answer the questions. I ask. Renter beware!!!!!

Quaint little bed n bath stay. Just perfect for a quick getaway with your mate in a very safe area well patrolled and quiet ! Will book on my next trip home to visit

Not as advertised

Appreciated the older building, but expected it to be renovated more. Our room was considerably colder than the advertised 72 degrees. Low 60s which isn't ideal in December. Windows are old and let in a lot of noise. Host was unresposive when we sent messages. Checked out early due to experience.messaged.

I never leave negative reviews, and feel guilty about it now, but...The home itself is beautiful. The host was quick to show up and get the air turned on because it was super hot in there, you don't have access to the thermostat. But the room... The bathroom was clean. My only complaint was no body wash in the dispenser.The bedroom..... Where to begin. The carpet is completely stained up and disgusting. The strip that is supposed to separate it from the bathroom tile is gone, so it's all torn up at the threshold. The "coffee bar" is a coffee maker stacked on top of a microwave on top of a mini fridge in the floor. We were supplied with 2 paper cups and a handful of spoons. The top cup was dirty inside, so we had to go buy cups. The only space for any kind of food prep was the window, which was covered in dirt and hair, no cleaning supplies to be able to take care of that ourselves. Dirt and hair in the fridge. Trash under the bed. I had to scoot the nightstand out to plug my phone in, trash there: dental flosser, nicotine pouches, etc. Gross. Thick layer of dust in various places. Blood on the door to the bathroom. Opened the drawer of the night stand, loose weed and a ripped baggy inside. For 365 for 2 nights, I should have just gotten a hotel room and had access to vending, ice, continental breakfast, etc. It's close enough to downtown but not the 6 minute walk it estimates. It seemed our bedding and towels were clean so we made the best of it, but I won't return.

The room was very small with no place to sit other than a chair in the bathroom. Very clean though! The blinds in the bedroom are broken and don’t come down all the way so there was no privacy. There is no thermostat in the room and the room was freezing during the day and hot at night. I called and left a message with the owner about the temperature but got no response back. It was a little further than I expected from the historic downtown but an easy drive to downtown. The room is on the streetside and is very loud. Sounded like the window was open but it was not. All in all a good place to stay just needs a couple of fixes.

Coffee, pot, and coffee available, no cups.Great bed, clean linens, and a nice bathroom, but the blinds are in sad shape! Needs transition strip between carpet and bathroom floors. Needs bed stand on one side for Glasses, etc. Be aware that location is on a busy street and you will be climbing stairs to the entrance, also climbing stairs to the room.
