Lovely property with anything and everything you could need for a quiet cabin stay. Hosts have thought of literally everything to make this a cozy and comfortable experience. We will definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends!
This house was a great place to stay. The host lift snacks, and a bottle of wine for us. The area was beautiful. We had never been to Haleyville before, and we will definitely be back!
This was an amazing property. The host was extremely responsive with all of my questions. Very quiet and peaceful… The screened porch and the deck were amazing places to enjoy the weather and storms that pass through. The creek was perfect for kayaking. Kayak with my blue heeler for the first time and she loved it! There are so many places close by to go hiking and playing in the woods. The cabinet itself is beautifully decorated and super comfortable. Had everything we needed and more.

Friends weekend
Absolutely wonderful. Everything was perfect plenty of fun decorated wonderfully. Now my favorite place!
Overall experience was great! Check in was easy, cabin was nice and homey, and had everything we needed. Nice quiet setting to unwind for a few days. Only complaint was that there was no hard copy checkout instructions, which is an issue when there's no Internet.
This beautiful property is the perfect place to disconnect to reconnect. We enjoyed kayaking, grilling on the fire pit and wine time while putting together puzzles. Only minutes from Bankhead National Forest and Sipsey Wilderness.
This location felt incredibly secure and safe and a great place to unwind and recharge. It rained about half the time we were there and yet it was still one of our most wonderful trips! There was plenty to do - my 3 yo and 11 yo never used the word ”bored” once the entire week! And my 11 year old even said it was like a free vacation if you count all the movies that we could watch for free. The movie collection of this home is incredible (and nostalgic)! The hosts were wonderfully attentive.
This was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Super clean, and welcoming! Had all the kitchen supplies you may need to cook with. Loved the extra little things they had : coffee, tea, hot chocolate, spiced apple cider, and s'more supplies. They had so many amenities included in the cabin since it is a remote location. Board game, DVDs, kayaking, fire pit, outside games, 4 Season porch, and you could walk around the property with wildlife. In our experience, we had no cell service at the cabin but if we need to make a phone call for any reason you could go to the main road and it would pick up there. But this is what we wanted. Disconnected from phones and outside distractions!

not for me
It was a nice property with lots of room for pup to roam that is the best .
Owner so worried about cost of electricity made finding outlets and switches a game of hide and seek.
I expected at least a tv with local channels for news and/or a radio. nope..
Ad said cell was sketchy more like one spot in camp and that was sketchy. They provided lots of family games and electronic games/movies but I had no interest in them there or at my home.
Sinks did not drain and they had incense sticks that were so overpowering that they triggered a migraine and I just did not have a lot of fun.

Hi Nel, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We apologize if the cabin didn't meet your expectations. It's described as "off the grid," with no WiFi and limited cell service to ensure guests are aware of the remote nature of the property.- Regarding the issue with electricity, we do not hide outlets or switches to conserve electricity. The cabin was built back in the 1970s, and during that time, they didn't install as many outlets as modern properties. We've labeled the switches that might be challenging to locate to make our guests' stay more comfortable.Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
This property was an amazing play to stay. My wife and I wanted to just get away and unplug for a few days and this cabin in the woods gave us just that. There was cell reception in town, but none for us on the property (T-Mobile), but that's kind of the point! It is just steps away from a creek that's large enough to fish in and there are multiple kayaks available to use. The kitchen was fully stocked and had a lot more food than I've seen in other VRBOs. They also had a fully stocked smore station, coffee station, and a kitchen with everything in it you'd need to cook more meals in it. The fully-screened in porch was great to sit out in and they had every kind of board game and a lot of puzzles to kill time during the heat of the day.
We're from a larger city and the tap water tasted great, almost like bottled water if that's as that may be a concern for people that don't like the harder water in some remote locations.
There was a ton of land that our pet loved to run around on and enjoy all of the new scenery and smells :)
Overall this was an amazing stay and truly a gem in the rough. We will definitely be trying to come back down in the fall when it's a little cooler, Alabama summers can be hot for those who aren't used to the southern summers.
This property offers a lot of fun things to stay. Very charming decorations made us feel at home. The location is also convenient which is close to Walmart and gas stations about 15 minutes. Best location!
