We are very fortunate to be the conservators of a waterfront home perched high on the cliffs of the Bay which our parents acquired in 1949. Our parents loved this magical place. We have extended their legacy by constantly maintaining and upgrading the comfortable log cabin. While the log cabin is original and authentic, it is warmed by oil heat, cooled by central air, and filled with modern conveniences. Since 2009 we opened our doors to guests, who have enjoyed vacations and shared their stories of relaxing experiences at the cabin, on the beach, in the forested community. We look forward to providing a happy home for your family's next vacation.

Special part of the world!
Truly eonderful cabin directly on the cliffs above the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. Our hosts thought of everything for our comfort. We will return. Thank you.
Great Visit at Stone’s Throw Yet Again
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve stayed at Stone’s Throw. You can’t beat the cozy cabin feel or the amazing bay views. I wish the stairs down to the beach had been open. It made getting to the beach a little inconvenient when it’s usually just a short walk. However, that’s out of the owner’s control! Hoping I’ll get to come back up to visit sometime soon.
We love having our returning guests, thank you for choosing Stone's Throw again. I'm sorry about the temporary loss in March of a portion of the beach stairs which were damaged in Storm Riley. They will be repaired by the community manager and back to normal access soon.
Lovely cabin, amazing location, great owners
Our owners were very responsive to questions before our arrival. The cabin is spacious, but cozy. The cliff front yard is just lovely, and if it's too chilly or warm out, you can spend your time in the bright sun room. The kitchen is well-equipped and the beds are comfortable. There is a tiny beach during low tide nearby down some stairs. We will be back!
Thanks so much for choosing Stone's Throw! We are so glad you found the sun room pleasant and the beds comfortable. We have experienced some bad storms this winter which has narrowed down our section of the beach. However, if one treks down the beach, one can still find wider beaches where one can traipse for 1 to 2 miles. We look forward to your return!
My husband and I oved our weekend stay ... sweet and quaint cabin that's filled with so much history. Awesome view and easy access to the beach. We found some pretty sweet fossils and enjoyed walking the beach. The cabin was clean and the sofa and beds were very comfy. We ended up buying charcoal because the has grill didn't work. But other than that no complaints. Ginny couldn't be any quicker to respond with questions or be any nicer. I would highly recommend staying at this place and would love to come back !
So happy that you both enjoyed your January weekend stay. We pride ourselves on keeping the cabin in top order and are sorry to hear that the gas grill did not work. Be assured, this problem will be remedied and will be completely resolved in a couple days. Thanks so much for staying with us and we do look forward to your return!
Beautiful views. We enjoyed the cabin and the icy bay!!
We are delighted to have you stay with us once again. So glad that you survived the cold temperatures we've been having and enjoyed the icy Bay! Looking forward to your April trip to Stone's Throw.
Cozy Fun for the Family Despite Cold Winter Temperatures and Short Days
We enjoyed our visit to Stone's Throw cabin at the Cliffs in spite of the extremely cold December temperatures and the short day length. The hardier family members braved the ice and spent time looking for and finding fossils on the beach! The cabin is cozy and there are eating establishments, grocery stores and other businesses nearby. It's the perfect place to sit, put your feet up and read a good book, or just enjoy the incredible view of the bay.
Home located in private country-club like 300-acre private community founded in 1936 for the preservation of nature and fossils. Seasonal activities revolve around 2 mile sand beach on Chesapeake Bay, with excellent beachcombing, shark's tooth hunting, swimming and boating. Two tennis courts, pristeen outdoor swimming pool, ball fields, a community house, basketball & horseshoe court and private roads for walking and cycling make this an ideal vacation spot. Lush vegetation, a tall canopy of trees and rolling hills form the backdrop for this beach community perched on cliffs overlooking the Bay. Maryland crabs, seafood, fine museums and parks, wineries, golf and charter fishing are available within easy driving distance.
