About Joye Byrd

We are retired and enjoy living at the lake. We are Arkansas Razorbacks fans and attend most events. We enjoy spending time on the water and in the woods. We are dog lovers. We have "Brandy", a minature schnauser, and "Buddy", a golden retriver. We have always lived in Arkansas.

Joye Byrd purchased this cabin in 1983

Why Joye Byrd chose Lake Dardanelle

This was our favorite fishing and water sports lake. Also, near the forests and ATV trail riding.

What makes this cabin unique

We moved to the lake when we retired and built a new house nearby and used the cabin for a guest house. We decided to list the cabin as a rental for the enjoyment of others. The decks have beautiful views and are very relaxing or build a fire in the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine. We can also take a leisurely walk in the woods. This is a quite secluded area within an 1-1/2 hour of Little Rock, Ft. Smith, Hot Springs, Eureka Springs and many points of interest

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time. We left Sunday morning to fish around the State Park. "Great Place"

Very secluded and perfect location for a quiet getaway!

You couldn’t ask for better host and hostess. The Byrds definitely have a heart for hospitality. We enjoyed fishing, the kayaks, and grilling on the porch. Cleo and Buddy were great company as well.

Quite, serene and peaceful cabin on the lake

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin on the lake where we were able to unwind while catching amazing sunsets, sun rises and bonus full moon rises. Location is great to just sit on the deck and read a book or go kayaking and fishing, or take long walks in the county, not to mention all the other activities in the local area if you desire.

Joye and Charlie were very friendly and responsive. They made us feel welcome and were very helpful in suggesting activities and locating the extra things we needed. Charlie even helped my husband fix our car. Their 2 beautiful dogs (Buddy and Cleo) helped our dog Zeus transition from city dog to enjoying the life of a country dog. . . even taking him swimming.

We definitely plan to return. Thank you Joye, Charlie, Buddy, and Cleo for making our vacation one to remember.

Picturesque and serene.

  • 4 of 5

The Bryd House, situated on the point at Dublin Bay, is remote and serene. Its best feature is a side deck overlooking the lake which catches the breezes, especially refreshing on a hot summer day. We spent many hours on the deck sipping coffee or enjoying our meals. Early morning deer can be seen romping through the woods near the shoreline. The boathouse on the other side of the point is a perfect spot to watch the sunset and cast for fish in the fading light. While Mike spent most of his time fishing from his kayak, I enjoyed kayaking and exploring, especially around the island opposite the point, and discovering the Arkansas River, a mile wide, and the mountains beyond. There are many other inlets and outlets to explore by kayak along Dublin Bay. Joye and Charlie were great hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Back woods cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great little four day get away with our family of six. We took our pontoon boat

out on the Lake and went over 70 miles in three days but disappointed at how shallow the lake was. As for the lake cabin it was a true pleasure the hospitality that Charlie and Joy showed us was above and beyond. The cabin had all the amenities you need including cold AC. We would definitely do it again !

Country Setting, Wonderful Place to Relax, Loved It!!!

  • 5 of 5

What can I say, it is an awesome place to stay. Charlie & Joyce were so welcoming and treat you like family. Everything about the cabin was true to the fact. Beds comfy and everything you need to cook & clean with. Loved the visits from Buddy and Cleo too! Thanks so much for the use of your dock to park our 4 wave runners in. If you love the outdoors, peace, quite, wildlife, water, seclusion, and not having any noise at night except nature singing than this place is for you. Thank you for welcoming us to your home and for everything. We appreciate all the help and directions you gave us for going out on the river to keep us safe and helping us not get lost. We will be back when we can stay longer and also bring our boat. Looking forward to our next visit but until then take care. We loved our stay!! Tammy Hebert
