We really enjoyed our time at this property. The house was nice, clean, and accurately described. The AC worked well, the bed was comfortable, and there was a good selection of DVDs available. The host was very responsive and even kept us updated on the Yosemite road openings. We also enjoyed seeing the turkeys hanging around the yard in the morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
We had a great stay here with our family of 6. The place was very clean and nice and quiet. Check-in was easy and we enjoyed seeing the deer and turkeys roaming around. Our hosts had excellent communication and ideas of things to do.
We had difficulty sleeping because it was so hot. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out in the back watching all the duck and goose families, birds etc and people floating down the river. Very relaxing.

Kim wrote me that this review was left in error. This review was meant for a property next to a river with lots of birds and non working AC apparently. My house is 10 miles away from a river. She explained that VRBO created this property mixup with their endless software bugs we all have to deal with. I filed 5 financially costly bugs agains VRBO website. We can't continue dealing with VRBO problems. VRBO, please stop manufacturing problems for both hosts and travelers.
My friends and I stayed in Groveland for a relaxing retreat and had a great time. Lots of fun things to do in the area and beautiful views. Hosts were great at communication and extremely helpful.
Restful and peaceful stay. Well stocked amenities, quiet location. We stayed 7 nights while touring surrounding area. Everything worked well in this lovely home. I would recommend you stay here.
Great location. True to reviews it was a great night of rest. Beds were comfy. It was clean for the most part. All the cooking utensils we needed were there. The washing machine smelled a bit and there were cobwebs in some corners of the house. It also was pretty dusty, especially if the ceiling fans were on. Overall, it was great for our needs.
Nice and clean, exactly as pictured and advertised. The kitchen was much better stocked than I expected, including good sharp knives! We all slept well and enjoyed our stay!
My qualities are easy to remember as they all start with "R": Reliable, Reasonable, Responsible, Responsive, and Respectful. My wife says I am Romantic (but that is a whole other story :)
Why they chose this property
Fresh clean air. Lake and swimming pool for swimming. Gated community where I feel safe. A great getaway form stresses. Yosemite near by, plus a ton to explore. House that's 130 feet away from the closest car that cruses by 25MPH, that lets me sleep with windows open.
What makes this property unique
I own this property for over a decade and know the area and the community well. Below I'll describe the problems my house DOES NOT have. Hills, and more hills is what you find here, with houses chiseled into them, but at times awkwardly. You can find parking problems such as damaging your car bumper getting to the house parking, or being unable to drive to or from the house after occasional snowfall (3 to 5 snows a season). My house does not have "too steep" parking problems. Some houses are close to noisy streets. My house is 130 feet away from the closest car cruising by. Some houses have steep stairs that make you worry if my kid or my mom will fall downstairs. My house is one level. Some houses have a deck only. Mine has front and rear deck. Some houses don't have AC (worst choice ever May through October). Many houses have those wall ACs that are there only to disappoint as they are underpowered 110volt units, giving you only noise instead of cooling. Ductless mini-split air conditioning system are not much better as you need to turn on a bunch of them and then wait for noisy hour after hour to feel the effect. My house has a dedicated reliable no-human-drama central AC. Most houses have 40gallon water tank, which means who ever takes shower 2nd or third "enjoys" a cold shower. Even 50-gallon tank heater is not much help here. My house has a tankless water heater so everyone takes a hot shower. Most of the houses were built in 1970s and 1980s, thus the classic setup is that you have vaulted ceiling in the living room and then the 7 foot (2m 40cm) ceilings in every other room. My house has has vaulted ceilings in each and every room. And the last but not least, the most common year a house was built in Pine Mountain Lake community (located in Groveland) is 1970's year. Yes, old houses which don't always get the attentions and maintenance they deserve. I do maintain my house, and if you see something that needs attention, please do tell me ASAP.
