LOCATION

Enjoy this modern peaceful space bordered by with its own deck, garden and pool views.

Set on the sprawling lawns of a large country section, while just a 5 min walk to the town centre and neighbouring vineyard cellar door restaurants.

Enjoy the pool from Nov - end Mar and hot tub from Apr - end Oct. Please see the amenities info below for full details about these.

nb property not suitable for children who can not swim.

ABOUT THE POOL HOUSE

The Pool House is a 15m² double glazed, fully insulated, professionally converted shipping container by Podlife NZ (see podlife.co.nz).

There is also a 2.5m² louvred area with an outdoor couch and sun / privacy screen.

The Pool House is next to our main house. When guests are staying, blinds in the main house are drawn at all times to ensure your privacy.

Please take time to go through the photos and make sure you are comfortable with the Pool House, the corner, slat bed, stool seating available inside and for winter guests, the location of the hot tub, near the main house.

Please also go through the info below for full details about the amenities.


AMENITIES

Pool - 10 x 4m saltwater, unheated seasonal pool available mid Nov - end Mar.

Hot tub - cedar, treated with colloidal mineral sanitiser, avaialable Apr - end Oct.

Please note - as per photos - the tub is by the main house (which has the blinds down at all times) and is open to the weather.

Deck area - relax and enjoy garden and pool views.

Wifi & 32" TV - unlimited wifi and Netflix

Heating & air con - heat pump with air con in a fully insulated, double glazed space with sun blinds.

Kitchenette - with complimentary milk, tea and coffee. Coffee plunger, kettle and toaster. Fridge | freezer. Air fryer and microwave. Crockery, cutlery, cups, glasses, utensils and bowls

Living & Dining area - with pool and garden views, it has two stools and a bench.

Bedroom - corner, slat queen bed with fresh linen, duvet and quilts. Block out blinds in all windows.

Full ensuite - toilet and shower. Towels and complimentary shower gel, conditioner and shampoo supplied.

Storage - cupboard for bags, shelving for shoes etc, hangers and a full length mirror.

Safety - there is a smoke alarm and a fire extinguisher in white cupboard

The space is beautiful, communication was easy, and we were able to use the hot tub, which was great! It’s a lovely spot in a great location—thank you for hosting us. We’re looking forward to staying there again on a future trip.

So close to vineyards and the main shops. Would be ideal to stay in summer and use the pool and outdoor area. We stayed in winter and it was warm and cozy inside. Small accommodation but that's what we wanted as we had a lot planned for the weekend.

I booked this 4 day holiday to celebrate my partner's birthday & have a romantic 4 days away. I am most disappointed at this accommodation, especially compared to others I have heard of nearby/cost only a little more and are luxurious & include things like free wine tasting & breakfast. The accommodation is a container which has been upgraded & sits behind the beautiful pool. It is tiny. The bed is a futon & not very comfortable. The 2nd person has to climb over the bed to get in. It does not heat well despite the heat pump & has ventilation issues in winter mornings. The only place to sit apart from the bed is on wooden stools. The kitchenette has a microwave, airfryer & nice fridge/freezer. The bathroom is great. It is nice & central & close to wineries.The hot tub (which we were looking forward to) is pretty well unusable in freezing winter evenings as it is near the main house & has no shelter. There are some lovely touches like the nice shower gel, handwash, netflix & free wifi & it is new, clean & tidy. I do not feel it is suitable to hire out in winter time-if so only for one person.

Hi Linda So sorry you were here during the very wet winter weather the region had and that we were not the accommodation for you. We appreciate your feedback. We'd like to gently note the property photos show the Pool House is a shipping container, has a corner bed and that stool seating is what is available inside. However, we have updated our property description even more now to highlight this. As you note, the hot tub is near the main house. The blinds are always drawn, so it is private, though as the photos show it is open to the weather. Its a shame you decided not to use it, as reviews on other sites from those who stayed at a similar time mention how much they enjoyed it. So sorry again to hear that your weekend wasn't what you had hoped for - we appreciate how disappointing that must have been.

Amazing

Honestly couldn’t rave about this stat more! Louise the host was the nicest and most useful host I’ve ever dealt with, my partner and I stayed for our anniversary and Louise went out of her way to arrange a bottle of bubbly and some flowers for us. If you are traveling to Martinborough and want a close, affordable, cozy place to stay - I high recommend staying here!

A lovely place

A nice cottage in Martinborough. Clean and comfortable. A very helpful host. I was there for 2 nights for stargazing. This place is not far from the centre yet I got very dark sky for stargazing. I recommend this place for people who would like to do some stargazing and do not want to travel. I'll be back again.

Altho the accomodation was new and clean it was very small with the bed in the corner of the room and no access to both sides. Also there was no chairs to sit in only two stools. Maybe we should have looked more closely at the listing. I wouldn’t recommend it for older guests ( we are in our 70’s). However the setting was nice, it had a great shower and it was an easy walk into the main square in town.
