Cottage Features
Mrs Myers House is a beautifully restored timber slab cottage that offers a unique blend of history, comfort, and natural beauty. It has two queen bedrooms downstairs and a loft with two double futon beds, making it ideal for families or groups. The fully-equipped kitchen features beautiful blue gum slab bench tops and a large gas oven and stovetop. You can gather around the cozy fireplace on cooler evenings or step out onto the verandahs to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the surrounding landscape, overlooking the Clyde River and Prospect Hill.

Building History
Built over 130 years ago, this authentic timber slab house whispers tales of Brooman's rich timber heritage. You can marvel at the original, wide timber slabs, some measuring up to 330mm wide, and appreciate the craftsmanship of a bygone era. It stands as a testament to the town's history and offers a tangible connection to the past.

Off-Grid Living
The property is completely off-grid and powered by a central solar system with underground 240V power. Water comes from the pristine rain that falls from the sky, collected and stored in galvanized iron tanks. Hot water is heated by an instantaneous gas water heater located on the outside of the building.

Brooman Features
The old town site is set opposite a large bend in the Clyde River. The deep water extends for nearly a kilometre upstream, making it a great place for canoeing, fishing for Bass, Platypus watching, or simply listening to the dozens of unique and beautiful endemic bird species of this area. There is a resident mob of Eastern Grey Kangaroos that typically comes out at dusk. You may also spot Red-Necked Wallabies, Bandicoots, microbats, blue-tongued lizards, and Possums. The buildings date back to the late 1800s to early 1900s, once supporting a thriving community of up to 200 people. Brooman had a post office, school, dance hall, mechanics building, galley, general store, phone exchange, and cottages like this one.

Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Please was up all dishes and put them away before you leave. An additional clean fee will be charged if this is not completed or if the property is left in an unreasonable condition.
Feel free to leave the rubbish on the verandah as we do not have council rubbish disposal we will remove this for you. Please recycle we provide two bins and additional bin bags.
Please make sure all of the lights and fans are off as we are on solar power and please ensure all taps are turned off.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
