A lovely part of Wales with great scenery

Firstly the communication prior to arrival was superb, all the questions I could have asked were already answered. The property is great cosy and clean with all the amenities you would need for a short stay. The location is lovely, some what remote, but that's what we wanted. I was concerned about wifi and network coverage but both were fine if taking data hungry teenagers.

Fantastic location

Wonderful position , kids loved the goats and cows and al pacas near by , lovely idea of hobbit house , if I’m being nit picky Fridge could have been a bit bigger , and some pegs etc to put our clothes on as not much room for cases around side of bed but that’s just our opinion , wouldn’t put us off staying again , loved it

The best base for our Wales motorbike trip

Me and my husband stayed in Foxes View with our 2 friends for 4 nights in August and we had the most amazing stay! Its in an amazing location in lots of different ways! On the site, it is the furthest from the entrance so it feels really nice and secluded, the site has been designed really well so you dont feel overlooked at all. The location in mid Wales is perfect to be able to reach any corner of the country in just a few hours, so it was perfect for us to plan a few good day trip routes on the bikes. The location on the land is spectacular, with views right over the valley below, with Highland cows, free roaming goats, alpacas, sheep and so many red kites! Just a heads up to any other bikers thinking of booking, the driveways up to the hobbit holes are quite steep with deep gravel in places. We just parked our bikes on the road at the bottom of the site with no issues at all and it is perfectly safe. The hot tub was just absolutely perfect for the beautiful warm evenings watching the sun go down. I would 100% recommend staying here!

Stunning location and quirky accommodation.

Beautiful accommodation in stunning surroundings. Very helpful hosts. Only one small criticism is the fridge is very small especially if more than two people staying for over 2days. Also the seating area indoors not cosy. However, the other facilities were excellent and the visiting goats were wonderful to see. An absolutely fantastic place to stay and relax. I would definitely stay again.

A novel place to stay in beautiful mid Wales

We loved the hobbit hole style accommodation, with it's hot tub and absolutely beautiful views. Great place for a few days away. Stayed in Foxes View, which was a fabulous spot being on the end, and my daughter was in fits of laughter when we had a goat 'invasion' outside one morning. Felt very private despite there being other 'hobbit holes' nearby. Inside is very novel, could do with some minor TLC but overall I would definitely recommend a short stay here.

Hobbit weekend

Excellent location for a relaxing 'time out'. Such admiration for the vision of those who created Gellila. The Hobbit huts are made to be very comfortable, which included all necessary equipment for cooking. The views are breathtaking and are even better when sat in the hot tub with a glass of prosecco.

Great place, great views, great stay. Again.

This is the second time we have stayed at foxes view and my 4th time staying on that site. The location, views and the place itself are amazing. The hobbit house is really quirky and provides all you need. If there are any issues, someone will come and sort them for you and nothing is too much trouble. Hoping to visit again and stay in the new one. See you soon.

Lovely stay!

Our family of four had a lovely stay in Foxes View. The location is stunning, with a beautiful view of the farm and rolling fields and hills beyond. Loved listening to the cows and sheep and donkey. The holiday park is a few minutes drive to Rhayader, making it a very convenient location. The hut is as pictured, although some of the grass covering the outside was a bit bald due to the lack of rain I assume. We all slept well, the home was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was great, we loved watching a movie on the tv one night. An excellent value. My few suggestions would be to include some other hooks or drying racks inside. There were not enough places to hang up wet raincoats and sweatshirts. Also, the bathroom floor was constantly wet due to the design of the shower. It dried eventually, but the floor is starting to warp, so it would be great to have a larger floor towel to sop up the water and then have somewhere to hang it to dry. Two notes for guests: The bunkbed room does not have any windows. My daughter was fine all cozied up in there, but it might be claustrophobic for some who would need to sleep with the door open. There are no screens on the window or doors. We didn't have any problems with mosquitos, but there were a few flies and moths who came in at night probably attracted by the light, so we had to sleep with the window closed, and also obviously with the doors closed. It was cool enough for us, but I wonder if it gets stuffy in the summer.

Fab family break

We've just got back from a fabulous family break in the foxes view underground house. We loved the house, especially the hot tub! Great location for going on some lovely walks, my 5 year old particularly loved the walk to the dam. Thank you for a fantastic experience, we'll definitely be going back.

3 nights in Wales

Firstly, the site is lovely, close to Elan Valley and the accommodation position of Foxes View was great as it’s at the end of the row of hobbit holes. We were without a fire pit when we arrived but owner very quickly put one out for us. The accommodation size is great. It does look run down in places though, flooring has some nicks in it etc. The kitchen was fine although the fridge wasn’t very cold. Hot water in sinks etc perfect but shower tepid. Hot tub was lovely and clean but only some jets worked and dials were not working properly. I’m really glad we experienced this site but for the price we wouldn’t return without the small niggles being rectified.

Novelty experience with incredible views

The experience of staying in a 'den' was 10/10, the kids thought it was fantastic and it was. The views were just incredible and you could sit and look at them for hours. As for sitting for hours that was difficult, the seating area isn't comfortable, you can't get cosy on the bench seating. In the end we went to bed as I couldn't sit/ hover/ lean any longer. The cabin is looking worn in places but this is easily overlooked for a one night stay.

Wonderful

This was the third time I'd visited, each time staying in a different accommodation type. This time, as there were 5 of us and the dog, we chose Foxes View and wow, we weren't disappointed. Fabulous views, immaculate accommodation and plenty of room for all of us. The location is out of the main town but only a short drive away. Perfect if you want to be out of the way but close enough to pop to the shops. We will definitely be visiting again because of how special this place is.

We had an amazing group stay in Foxes and Hares view for a long weekend. We had pretty much everything we needed which was lovely. The views surrounding the property are amazing and the local amenities were decent, we would defo come back in future!

Beautiful Location and a Unique Stay

We came to stay at Foxes View to celebrate my friend's 40th Birthday. Safe to say we were blown away by the accommodation and the view! The perfect quirky place to stay with the added bonus of Highland Cows. We had a slight issue with the jacuzzi on the first night, but the owners were really helpful and quick to sort it out. Great location, very close to the beautiful Elan Valley. We'll definitely be back!
