Denne perle er i et roligt etableret familie kvarter lige ved Beacon St. 3 soveværelser og en sovende veranda perfekt til børnene. Masser af parkering og udendørs plads (en sjælden finde dette tæt på denne strand). Du får god privatliv og masser af plads i dette hyggelige sommerhus.

Quiet beach bungalow

The beach bungalow was in a great location for the family to enjoy a short walk to the beach and then unwind afterwards on a nice quiet and comfortable property. The host was very helpful and responsive when contacting her prior to our stay.

Overall was pretty good. Yard needs a bit of attention. One room had no lights that worked. No firepit. Deck could use some paint.

Great time at Long Sands

My family stayed at this cottage for a week in August. We were a bit worried after the last review, but the owner was super responsive and all the appliances were working. I agree that it does need a good top to bottom vacuum and mop. The cottage is original and a bit musty smelling (not uncommon for this vintage) but met our needs. It was steps to the beach and spacious inside. Note that athough beds are listed as double, standard full bedding didn't fit - they are bit mattresses and require at least Queen.

Summer vacation

When we first arrived we needed to contact the owner for the key code, sweep off the deck which was full of pine needles. Deck needs updating as some of the boards were lifting and are aging. Once the house was opened we discovered we needed sheets or you have to rent them. We sprayed the entire house down as there was an intolerable order but once we disinfected and fabrized the house we had wa wonderful time, five minute walk to the ocean, now what we know what to expect we will rent this house again.

Disappointed

Upon arriving to this property the entire front yard was covered in dead pine needles that became slippery when it rained. Huge liability risk. The side entrance screen door was broken, taped together with duct tape, and the dumpster/recycling bin were full to the brim. It wasn't a very pleasant welcome. We entered the property, where we found the couch stained, and the recliner broken. We had to cover them with sheets in order to feel comfortable enough to sit on them. The coffee maker was dirty, the pot wasn't rinsed or cleaned from the last time it was used, the toaster oven had grease and sesame seeds baked on the door, the microwave had hair in it, the hood above the stove had dead bugs all over it. The garbage in the kitchen had trash in it when we arrived. We unpacked, made beds (with our linen) and cleaned - EVERYTHING. We were charged a cleaning fee, YET we did all the work! My husband noticed the refrigerator was not working, fortunately the owners did come through and they delivered a new refrigerator the same day we contacted them. While they were delivering the refrigerator, we pointed out that the property did not have any smoke detectors installed. The owner returned the same evening and installed two. This was another huge liability risk! We made the owner aware of the broken chair. The photos in the listing were not accurate, if I had to guess they were last taken in 2018. There was a lack of lighting throughout the property. A small table lamp in each room, nothing connected to a switch, it was very dark. The outside light was broken. There was no umbrella on the deck, the chair cushions were gross. The deck gets direct sun, we couldn't comfortably sit out there at all. The dust that was on the walls and baseboards made it obvious that this property has not been deep cleaned or cared for. The entire place smelled so musty, the window shades were stained, ripped and torn. The location of the property was wonderful, a short walk to Long Sands Beach, and local restaurants. It's unfortunate that the owners have such a desirable location but do not maintain it. For the amount of money that was spent to rent this property it’s clear they do not put any money back into the upkeep. Ultimately we opted to leave a night early. We just couldn't stand the musty smell, we had to wash all our clothes when we got home, even clothes we didn't wear smelled bad. We will return to York, ME in the future, but won't stay here

Beach Time!

Great property, plenty parking, off the main road, 5 minute walk to long sands. Neighbors were very nice.

Great location, house needs major updates/renovation

We all had a nice stay. The house is in a wonderful location, steps from the beach and a 5 minute drive to town, which we loved. However, we arrived and there were NO sheets or pillow cases on the bed, very few lights in the house and the fan in the bedroom was COVERED in dust. The host was very quick to respond and very kind, but when I told her there were no sheets she said we "didn't ask to rent them." I have never heard of needing to "rent sheets". After much looking, we found some sheets and towels, the towels looked like they were 30 years old. Luckily my boyfriend was coming 2 days later and brought our sheets and towels from home. It was a quaint home, but there was some rusting around the house and it needs a major upgrade. I have pretty high standards so maybe everyone won't feel this way.

Great Beach Getaway

Classic beach bungalow in a private location yet steps to the beach. Good internet, newer appliances, shower, and BBQ. Owner was super responsive and helpful.

Awesome cottage!

We loved our stay at this cottage and Morgan was great! She responded promptly whenever we had a question, and the property was bigger than we expected. Great location, only a 5 minute walk to the beach. We had a wonderful time!

Great Vacation

My children (& grandsons) had a vacation that will provide us all many happy memories. Can't thank Morgan enough, she is awesome. We're all looking forward to next year.

Family Beach Vacation

Our family stayed for our first joint family vacation. 4 adults and three kids. There was plenty of space for all of us and the location can’t be beat. A very short walk right to the beach. The cottage’s location is in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for afternoon naps for our small children. The listing noted linens included but they are actually available for rent so there was a little bump in the road with that. Morgan, the host responded right away though and was quick to respond to a couple of other questions I had throughout the weekend. Overall, this was a fantastic rental and we’re already talking about coming back next summer for a full week.

Summer 2019

So nice to have room for my family to enjoy each other. I would have liked the property to be cleaner inside and it’s outside also needs tending to. As for location, depending on your walking ability, the beach is within walking distance but you may prefer to park on the street at the beach. Parking places go quickly and cost by the hour. Beautiful beach!!!

Close to the beach and privacy

Plenty of room. I loved I could bring my dogs. The deck was so relaxing and you could hear the roar of the waves from there. I only stayed 4 days but would love to stay a whole week next year.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!

We were looking for a place to stay for just the long holiday weekend. We didn't want to spend a whole week. My original message to Morgan was, "we're striking out left and right, looking for just a long weekend". Message immediately received back that our reservation was accepted! Vacation was on!! Loved everything about it! House was adorable. Clean, walking distance to the beach, perfect size for our family of 4. Could have had 2 more adults comfortably. Two times I had questions, Morgan got right back to me. Would definitely ask to rent again. We just might in 2020! Thank you!!
