Ask questions before booking
I did not have the time to do a more detailed search of properties before having to book this stay, leaving me in the dark as for what it really expect, especially when trying to pay. The payment requirements made me purchase a minimum of damage insurance through a third party site, the VRBO service fee was a separate third party site, and then the initial booking down payment was separate as well from the final payment through yet another third party site. None of these extra sites were listed before trying to book and pay. If I had known how complicated this was going to be I would not have booked this or used VRBO in general. I didn't think to ask what the exterior would be like and ended up finding a small, yet steep staircase leading up to the front door. There was two different key locks so it wasn't clear which one the key was in, but once we figured out the right one we got the key out and got inside. The front door doesn't prop open if you need to make multiple trips with bags to get inside. Once inside the temp was very hot and the thermostat was not functioning so we could not turn on the a/c or make it cooler except by opening the windows and putting the fan on blast. The kitchen has the basic necessities however the fridge was completely empty of any condiments or stuff like butter. It was adequate for only being there for two nights. I would advise asking enough questions as to know what you are getting into before booking any VRBO rental.
