Cozy close to Fresno State but Older Complex and Unit Needs a Good Scrub
Close to Fresno State so convenient but the complex is old and a bit rundown making it feel like we were not in a nice, safe area. The unit itself upon entry looked clean and organized but there was a strong musty smell throughout the unit. It’s as if it was occupied by a smoker for many years and was covered up with a coat of paint and a carpet clean. The smell actually transferred onto our clothes after sitting on the couch or sleeping in the bed. We slept in one of the two bedrooms and the bed was lumpy and loud when you rolled over. The bathroom was clean but small and the showerhead is so low you can’t be taller than 5’7” to stand under it. The closet shelves were so dusty and no dressers so we kept all of our belongings in our suitcase. We attempted to use some of the cups and knives in the kitchen for coffee and breakfast but the coffee cups still had visible old coffee rings and knives were rusty toward the handles. There was also a lot of dust on the fans and air vents making us feel the place is only surface cleaned between guests. Needless to say, we checked out early once a room at a hotel opened up after 3 nights into our 6 night booking. We took a chance on this “new listing” with no rating as we came last minute during graduation week so hotels and rated VRBOs were sold out our first few nights in Fresno. We’re hoping the owners take this review seriously and invest in a deep clean and get that smell resolved.
