Firwood Apartment is a great base to explore the Cowal peninsula and beyond. Situated in Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Kilmun is a village which is a 17-minute drive from the main town of Dunoon.. 4 steps to entrance.

Shower room: With shower cubicle and toilet.. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. . Sitting-out area with garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking. Please note: The ground is uneven.. The owner’s family and wee dogs live on-site in the upper apartment. The apartment looks out over the Holy Loch and has a master double bedroom and second bedroom with a single and twin bunk bed to provide an overall sleeping capacity of five guests. There is a separate dining room, which looks out over the loch and an enclosed front garden. The floor in the property is uneven in places. We are dog-friendly with a maximum of two dogs, sorry no cats are accepted.
Kilmun is a small rural village and there are limited facilities. There are no shops in the village. The nearest shop is the Cot House petrol station which is 1.4 miles. The nearest pub is 1.2 miles. There are two cafés a few miles away. The nearest town is Dunoon which is 6.4 miles away and has two supermarkets and shops. There is a regular bus service to surrounding villages and town.
From the head of the Holy Loch, north to Glenbranter, there are dozens of walks along the shores of Loch Eck and elevating up the sides of the Glen on both sides with Benmore (Beinn Mhor) being one of the highest summits in the area and a popular vantage point. Glenbranter Forest is known for its abundance of nature and wildlife including red squirrels. For mountain bikers, the Loch Eck Loop offers magnificent views of Beinn Mhor and from the summit, the west coast islands of Islay and Jura. Local attractions include Pucks Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens, and the Kilmun Mausoleum where Saint Munn landed after leaving Ireland in the 6th century, allegedly, where the Holy Loch name was derived. The famous Loch Fyne Oyster restaurant is just over 30 minutes by car. There are two coffee shops in the next villages as well as a post office. The nearest shop and pub are within a couple of miles.
