Apart from being calm and sunny, Madalena do Mar is also a good strategic point to explore the west part of the Island. Nevertheless, the best way to get to know the whole Island would be by renting a car, and therefore the property offers a parking space in the buildings garage for your safety and comfort.

At about a 10 minutes drive you can visit the centre of Calheta. Despite being known for its beautiful sand beach, here is also where you can find Casa das Mudas modern art museum, the old Engenho that is still in use to produce rum and sugar from the sugar canes and the Rabaçal area. This last one is a must visit for everyone that loves nature and wishes to feel in the middle of the ancient Laurissilva forest.
In 30 minutes you can get to know the extreme west point, called Ponta do Pargo. Here you will find the most peaceful and remote place in Madeira.
When driving to the East, you will pass in Ponta do Sol, a little cultural village near the sea and where you can always find some rays of sunshine. Continuing east, you will find Ribeira Brava with a wide range of facilities such as supermarkets, clinics, restaurants and cafés.
As you can see, when booking this accommodation you will have the quietness of the seashore in the rural areas and the easy access to the rest of the island.
