Town: With meandering cobblestone alleys and a lovely port full with boats, this is the ideal Cornish fishing community. Beautiful hikes go both ways along the coast, with sandy beaches, steep cliffs, and hidden coves to discover. The village boasts a good selection of pubs and eateries, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just up the road. Between Easter and September, a daily ferry travels from Mevagissey to Fowey. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles), which has a shipwreck museum, or among the world-famous Eden Project's tropical biomes (11 miles). The lovely Roseland Peninsula's breathtaking coastline, fantastic beaches, and renowned gardens are just a short drive down the coast, while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre, and cathedral, is only a half-hour drive away.
