Jericho is a historic suburb of Oxford, a short walk from the city centre with its historic buildings, colleges, museums and shops. The neighbourhood has a range of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, a cinema and bars and has an off-beat vibe. Many roads in Jericho have featured in the TV drama Inspector Morse. We recommend Gail's Bakery on Little Clarendon Street, the Jericho Café and Branca Italian Deli and Restaurant, both at the end of Observatory Street. The train station is just fifteen minutes walk away and the bus station around ten minutes walk.
Oxford is a small city so you can get to most places by walking. The central bus station is located on George Street, from where you can get a bus to the surrounding areas, as well as London and southern airports. The main train station is on New Road and has access to London in about an hour.
