This quirky characterful cottage with big bay windows is situated in the highly sought-after harbour bowl of Brixham, with wonderful views of the harbour. Limpet Cottage is a classic period cottage located in one of this bustling fishing town’s prettiest streets. Just a short walk to the harbour front, all the amenities of the town, and the very popular Middle Street, Limpet Cottage makes a fantastic base for exploring Brixham and South Devon.
From the road you will ascend a flight 6 steps to the entrance of the cottage which is arranged over 3 levels. On the ground floor is the double bed bedroom, large bathroom and access to the rear courtyard. The stairs take you up to the first floor to the galley kitchen and an open plan dining/living room from which there are lovely views over the rooftops to the inner and outer harbours. The next set of stairs take you to the top floor bedroom with twin beds with an en-suite WC and sink. This Peter Pan room will have you looking for Captain Hook out of the harbour with the Golden Hind Gallon ship.
The well-equipped kitchen offers the is perfect for the chef on holiday experience. Brixham is a food lovers' paradise, and you will be spoilt for choice for places to eat out from morning to night. Start your day off with a short saunter down to Brixham’s artisan quarter, “Middle Street”, brimming with independent coffee shops, artisan bakeries and cafés, then browse among the creative retailers including some of the town’s artists and photographers. For culinary enthusiasts, why not pick up some fresh fish straight off one of the local day boats to prepare back in the cottage and then enjoy an after-dinner drink in the courtyard garden which can be accessed from the kitchen.

Neighbourhood description
Famous for fishing, art and those colourful houses lining the harbour, Brixham is one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK and is home to some of the finest sea food you can think of, but it isn’t just about fishing. Brixham is also rife with art and culture and has several unique attractions suitable for the whole family.
Brixham is a great destination for art lovers, the town has a great range of art galleries that feature local artists as well as showcasing visiting installations. On the Strand, you’ll even have the opportunity to see artists working.
The town also boasts a museum and tours around the coast so you can get a real taste of its maritime heritage. Brixham is the home of the Golden Hind replica, a recreation of Sir Francis Drake’s flagship. Visitors can experience life on board and explore all five decks, it’s a great exhibition for kids learning about the Tudors or for adults who want to find out a bit more about the UK’s history.
Being a fishing port, you can expect a great choice of seafood restaurants with many independent, local establishments offering menus made from fresh local produce. It isn’t all fish though, Brixham’s restaurants and cafes are also supplied by an excellent selection of butchers and green grocers. You’ll be spoilt for choice!
For walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.
Getting around
The cottage is just a 5 minute walk from Brixham's transport hub as well as the ferry hub which offers boat trips to Torquay and Dartmouth.
The cottage is also located just a few mins from the famous SW Coastal Path and is just 2 minutes into the town centre.
