The Pirate Cottage is part of the St Mary's House complex, formerly known as The Old Police Station. St Mary's House is the most iconic building in Penryn, bar the clock tower. There is a wonderful photo of Queen Elizabeth II in front of St Mary's House, when she visited Penryn town in 1977, with the occasion of the Silver Jubilee. One bedroom has views over Penryn Harbour which is just opposite the cottage. Muddy Beach cafe is 1 min walk across the road, which overlooks Falmouth Harbour. It serves breakfast, meals, coffee, cakes. Lidl and Sainsbury's are 2 min by car. Asda is 10 min by car. Local store Bailey's 5 min walk sells health food, vegan pulses and beans, local bacon sausages, local alcoholic drinks, fresh fruit and vegetables, home made meals, food and toys and bones for dog and much more.
