Casa Petrarca is a holiday home located in Gagliano del Capo, a small town in southern Salento, 3 km from the sea and about 8 km from Santa Maria di Leuca.

The property consists of two apartments, one on the ground floor and the other on the upper floor.

The accommodation on the upper floor can comfortably accommodate 5 guests (up to 7, taking advantage of the sofa bed in the living room), its central location allows you to easily walk to the center of the village, well equipped with all major commercial activities (bars, groceries, pizzerias, pastry shops, pharmacies, tobacconists, laundromats, etc.).

Casa Petrarca is the ideal solution for those who want to spend a holiday in the hinterland of Salento a few minutes drive from the sea.

THE LOCATION

Gagliano del Capo is a small village in the extreme south of the Salento peninsula, well located and close to the two Adriatic and Ionian coasts.

This ancient and picturesque village of Salento overlooking the Adriatic Sea, still retains a historic center characterized by an artistic and architectural heritage of inestimable value, such as the Chapel of the Immaculate Madonna and the Church of San Francesco di Paola.

THE HOUSE

This accommodation is on the first floor, it is about 80 sqm wide and is perfect for 5 guests (plus 2 additional guests).

The main entrance is shared with any guests of the lower apartment.

The interiors, modern and comfortable, have air conditioning and are composed of:

-a spacious and well furnished living room with dining table, fireplace and fully equipped kitchen corner; 
-a modern living room with sofa bed (for additional guests on request) and large digital TV;
-two elegant bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds (triple if necessary);
-a full bathroom with shower and bathtub;
-an additional external bathroom with shower and washing machine.

The property includes two balconies equipped with deck chairs and panoramic views of the city, one with access from the lounge and the other from the living room.

Despite not having a reserved parking space, you can easily find free parking in the immediate vicinity.

As mentioned above, Casa Petrarca is located in a central area of the village, is well served and well connected to the sea.

Only 3 km away is the stretch of the Adriatic coast among the most beautiful of Salento, the coastal Otranto-Leuca. With its pristine landscapes, high cliffs overlooking the sea, coves and beautiful sea caves, this stretch of coast offers unique landscapes and settings. 

The nearest seaside resort is just 3 km away, "Località Ciolo", a picturesque cove, dominated by the homonymous bridge (built at 26meters high) which offers a wonderful view of the surrounding nature and the Adriatic Sea.

Here you can find bar, a beach overlooking the sea, restaurant and the famous disco and reception room "Gibo".

A few km away you can reach Marina di Novaglie (about 5 km) with additional restaurants, pizzerias, minimarket, and kiosk by the sea.

Further along the coast you can reach other charming places such as Marina Serra (10 km) and Tricase Porto (12 km).

In addition, just 8 km, Santa Maria di Leuca with its beautiful nineteenth-century villas, the monumental waterfall, the basilica, the promenade, restaurants, beaches and other attractions; and, for lovers of sandy beaches, about 14 km the Ionian coast with its expanses of golden sand and fine.

For lovers of trekking or simple walks in contact with nature we suggest some paths of great cultural interest nearby, the "Vie del Sale" ancient rural paths used in ancient times also for salt smuggling and connecting in several points the hinterland to the sea; and "Sentiero delle Cipolliane", a suggestive path overlooking the sea that connects the Ciolo Bridge to the Marina di Novaglie.

Finally we suggest several historic villages with large squares, imposing churches and palaces and the characteristic alleys where you can walk immersed in the culture and tradition of Salento.

Among these we point out: Presicce (13 km), Specchia (13 km), Tricase (11 km) etc
