I have NEVER written a negative review but feel compelled to this time. The night I arrived at the VRBO, the temperature in the apartment was 61 degrees. I attempted to adjust the thermostat, but to no avail. Found a small space heater (no additional blankets) to sleep intermittently. Called the 800 # the next morning. I was told someone would be out to fix the thermostat. Arrived back in the evening & still 61 degrees. Called again at approx. 9:15 pm & was reassured someone would be out that evening to fix it, as this was urgent. After 2 hrs. of waiting (now around 11:15 pm), I went to bed trying to sleep using the space heater. Called the 800 # the next morning & asked for a supervisor. Max P was extremely helpful however, the bottom line was the central heating & air was not functioning. This was already known by the local management office prior to my arrival thus, the small space heater was left in the apartment. (Outside temperature my entire stay was in the 30's at night.) It was advertised as having AC & heat central air. I explained this was false advertising...essentially fraud. Low and behold, by that evening, the VACASA app on my phone & part of the website advertising the rental was updated to now say "space heater". (I do have copies of the original description). I was provided with another small space heater, by the local office maintenance man, which helped somewhat, but still the highest the temperature ever got in the apartment, during my 4 day/night stay, was 64 degrees. Unable to use the kitchen, relax, read, or watch TV in the living room, due to how cold it was! I was forced to leave during the day, getting my coffee & food elsewhere, as well as finding places to "hang out," since I could not comfortably stay in the apartment. Never in a million years would I have rented a place with a space heater listed as the source of heat...which it wasn't...still absolutely freezing in the apartment. TOTALLY disappointed in the false advertising for the apartment & the need for repeated calls, in an effort to get the issue resolved. In addition, the overall problem was never rectified. Max, the supervisor working with me was on the east coast & the local manager (Florence, Oregon) never contacted me. Eventually, I was minimally compensated, but the experience was miserable & very upsetting. Honesty, integrity, & professionalism from the local VACASA management was non-existent. So much for my "get away." .
