Disappointed
Arrived to find a narrow, rickety, elevated boardwalk that circled around to the back. Very long way to carry luggage, coolers, etc. Once in, we were sweating and hot from the long walk(s) and looked for the thermostat to turn down the AC. We are not able to control the temperature. We had to text the host to cool off. Ridiculous. There was nowhere to sit, other than the bed or two small chairs at a tiny round table not big enough to have a meal. The pool was scuffed and not anything like the photos. Also not shown in the photos was a pair of women's underwear tacked to the bathroom door. Very inappropriate and offensive. The dock was so overgrown we could not cast a pole without getting it caught in the trees. The canal was brown and stinky. That is all you could smell in the back yard. In trying to take the dog out after dark, the lights didn't work and the lever to turn them on was brittle and broke off in my hand. Had to text the host for lighitng...again, ridiculous. The first NFL game was on NBC...a regular channel. We could not get the channel. We had to text the host, who told us NBC was fighting with Direct TV over the game and withholding the showing of the game, but no one else we know with Directv had that problem. Her daughter came over to try to download the app, only to be in Spanish! Tub clogged and filled when showering. Host agreed in writing to refund us, but only refunded us $399 when we never stayed the first night, only 10 hours.
