Real value for money
First things first. Mrs Marka Russo, the owner, gave us a lovely welcome and was the perfect host throughout our stay.
We had viewed the property on Street Scene and Google Earth and were familiar with the location before we went. We knew that it was inexpensive location, being just a studio apartment.
It was pleasing to find that no expense had been spared in kitting out the kitchen and Bathroom with the very best of equipment. If there was one failing it was that there was no extractor fan in the bathroom. This made it rather stuffy and odours lingered.
It was a real pleasure to eat outside on the shady terrace, looking out to sea.
Access to the sea is via a crazy paving path and steps. Sunbeds are provided for free on the concrete jetty at he foot of the steps.
Access to the ground floor studio is by 38 steps. Best get in some practice before you go.
The nearest grocery store is a couple of minutes away on foot. A rather better supplied and with a better range of good can be found some 8-10 minutes away on foot.
Turn right out of the property and there are good beaches with every facility imaginable. Prices are reasonable, too. Continuing on around the bay will take you a total of 1.9 miles before you run into a wooded zone with earthen paths.
To your left and about 450 yards away is the shortcut down to the town. You will find everything you will ever need down there. This includes a superb open air market and a chemist with the world's best and informed young lady behind the counter. Speaks excellent English.
