Perfect Couple's or Solo Getaway: 1840s Log Cabin

Generations ago our farm and cabin restoration began for the purposes of hospitality, preservation, forestry, and serenity. We still hold to those traditions and welcome guests with the motto: "There's nothing like nature, starry nights, rocking chairs on a porch, belly laughs, deep sleep, and simple pleasures to reset your mind and soul.”

We're not multi-property, hands-off rental-type owners. This farm is our home and as 3rd generation hands-on owners, we take tremendous pride and personal care of our little historical cabin and farm. We're located in the friendliest small county in Georgia surrounded by a community of wonderful friends and neighbors. We feel it's a little slice of heaven in southeast Georgia.

If you are looking for unique, this cabin should be on the list. There is a simplicity and honest beauty to this 170-year-old cabin that is unmatched in modern buildings. It's not a perfect building, this old pine lady has bumps and bruises, but it has a presence that puts you at ease from the minute you walk in the door.
There's a designated cell with a hot spot service which you tether or link through, but the internet service can be very spotty (we're looking at you AT&T). We have no tv in the cabin; you may have to actually talk to the person you're traveling with, relax, take a walk, read, play some of the other indoor & outdoor games provided.
The cabin setting has a dock, 1.5-acre pond, walking trails, and is surrounded by longleaf pines. Kayaks are free to use for floating or tooling around the pond. The grounds have hammock swings, fire pit, and a picnic table. We also have a tree loft and natural obstacle course for guests.
The cabin has 6 rooms including 2 bedrooms, full bath downstairs, small kitchen, dining room, living room, and half bath upstairs. Microwave, small fridge, crockpot, commercial hot plate, countertop oven, saucepans, and frying pan in the kitchen. The deck off the kitchen has a gas grill and griddle pan.
Downstairs and upstairs bedrooms have queen beds. Also a single daybed downstairs.
The back porch has rockers and ceiling fans with a view of the pond and dock. Board games and frisbees are in the cabin.
Feeding the huge catfish from the dock is a favorite activity of guests. (Sorry no fishing allowed. The fish are like pets -- so tame!) Also, stargazing in front of the cabin is a great way to spend an evening. City lights have nothing on starry country nights.

Please understand this is a 170-year-old pre-Civil War, authentic log cabin. It is very clean, beautiful, and well kept, modernized with central heating and air. It has stacked log corners and walls built using old-school building techniques. So you might see a bug. I know, I know, but it happens with this type of construction and with a cabin surrounded by trees and a pond.

We keep it plush (we're talking goose-down pillows, pristine soft white linens, extra fluffy towels, and comfy furniture) but this is a unique experience, a part of history. The ceilings are not perfect; however, the cabin has charm, beauty, and warmth that make it unforgettable and so cozy. And you are looking for an unforgettable experience, right! We've never had anyone stay who didn't love it. However, we want to make sure it is the right fit for your stay.

The area is rural, and this is a small farm surrounded by forests which means we have wildlife.

We have 4 RV sites, one is 75 yards from the cabin, and the others are 100 + yards away. So there may be RVers here. However, the property is large and you will have privacy, but the dock and fire pit areas are sometimes shared.
