It is close to downtown only 15 min., 20 min. to airport and 25 min to Redhook area. It is also located 5 min. from Magens bay beach. You can walk from Platform beach in the water all the way to Magens beach. You have access to 3 nearby beaches, Platform Beach, Little Magens and Magens Beach. The villa is just steps away from Platform beach and then you you can walk to Magens. On your walk to Magens you can enjoy lunch or famous Painkiller cocktail, it is the best!! The neighborhood is very private, quiet and offer breathtaking views of a whole bay.
The best is rent a car, as that gives you flexibility going anywhere at anytime. As our island is steep and we have narrow roads, the best car to rent is Jeep Wrangler. I recommend to rent Jeep as our driveway has sharp turn and SUV is best to get to the villa and other roads. I know, it can be scary to drive on the left, but believe me, it only takes one time for you to get use to it. You just need to think of driving on the left, and go slow. If you do not want to rent a car, no problem we will recommend taxi service for whole your stay and you will pay flat fee for whole trip and they will pick you up whenever and wherever you need I it.
The best snorkeling is right here, right by the villa. When you go to Platform beach, take your snorkeling gear and go swim with the turtles, swim towards Magens and you can see turtles, eagle rays, stingrays and all kind of fish and sea creatures. Platform beach is local beach and during the week nobody is there, so you will have beach to yourself. Open the bi-folded doors in every each room in the villa and enjoy the warm outdoor breeze. You will never want to leave the villa. The breathtaking views are just incredible, get to see the turtles while you are enjoying your morning coffee on the balcony.
