The cabin sits on a ridge overlooking one of the fingers of Douglas Lake. The cabin is surrounded by dense woods, which provide seclusion and privacy. Douglas Lake Resort is a Vacation Log Cabin Community. There are other cabins nearby, but they are situated far enough apart and the rear deck area is private. Being at the end of the road, it really is a secluded haven.
The Lake:
Douglas Lake is a seasonal reservoir with the water level regulated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Out of season the resort boat ramp is unavailable due to the lower water level. There are other locations on the lake to launch during the off season. The lake starts filling in April and is at full pool by Memorial Day. TVA begins lowering it in September after Labor Day, therefore, the appearance of the lake will vary in the fall/winter and early spring.
The Resort:
A quick 2 minute ride by car down the hill from the cabin takes you to the Boat Ramp, Community Pool and Playground. There is a lot provided to park your boat trailer after launch. The resort also features a walking trail and a clubhouse that can be rented by guests for large gatherings, wedding receptions, or family reunions. (Sorry our cabin is not available for parties/events/gatherings).
