Last minute trip, July 2016, squeezing in some beach time before start of school. Unit 1411 is on the East end of the Phoenix East bldg. with a large balcony off the kitchen/dining/living room area with two sets of sliding glass doors and lots of windows as shown in the photos. Great views of the beach, pool area and Perdido Pass where the fishing charters leave in the early hours of the morning and return at sunset. Master bedroom on front side of bldg. has balcony with views of the back bay area. While unit 1411 could use some updating, it is fine for a vacation condo. I usually have to sleep in a chair away from home due to a bad lower back, but the king bed in the master bedroom was comfortable and I slept there 4 nights without issue. The online photos fairly represent the features of the unit. The washer and dryer was a life saver. While the kitchen does come supplied with the basics such as plates, bowls, glasses and silverware, you'll want to bring a sharp knife and your favorite skillet as the ones supplied are lacking. Sheets, pillows & towels are good quality. No beach chairs or umbrellas provided, so bring your own or stop by the nearby Publix and pick some up for cheap. Nice size smart TV in the living room with plenty of viewing choices. Being a 3 bedroom that runs from the front of the bldg. to the back, there is plenty of space for a large family or even two families to vacation. Only drawback is the showers are much narrower than a standard shower/tub combo. A curved shower curtain rod would do wonders. The Phoenix East complex is in a convenient location and while a bit older appears to be well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. We played on the tennis court one evening with racquets borrowed from the front desk. If you like to play tennis, bring your own racquets. There is also an indoor racquetball court but we did not use it. Also did not use either the indoor or outdoor pool. The complex elevators move you from floor to floor quickly. Complex has outside walkways with keyed entry to unit, so you have to keep up with a key(s). Parking was pretty tight, even though the complex was not at capacity. If you stay during peak Summer season be prepared to park further away from the bldg. and walk the length of the parking lot. Overall I think the unit is a good value, especially compared to the cost of renting a smaller 2 bedroom unit or hotel room, and wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
