The vacation apartment in Salem is quietly located at the end of a dead-end street in Neufrach, a district of the municipality. Bakery, butcher, restaurants, discounter and a children's playground are nearby. A special experience offers the monkey mountain Salem with about 200 Barbary macaques in the outdoor enclosure, free flying white storks and fallow deer. Salem Castle is one of the most important cultural monuments in southern Germany. The approx. 20 ha large Schlosssee Salem with open-air swimming pool, water playground, nature adventure park, lake circuit and "Robinson Island with pirate ship" is free of admission and parking fees. For excursions into the surrounding area, appropriate documents are available. The picturesque Lake Constance landscape with well-known cities such as Meersburg, Überlingen, Constance, Friedrichshafen and Lindau offers many excursion destinations such as the flower island Mainau, the pile-dwelling museum Unteruhldingen and SEA LIFE Constance. Day trips to nearby Allgäu, the Black Forest, Austria, Switzerland or the Rhine Falls of Schaffhausen are possible. There are also numerous local and regional events.
