This property was your typical, acceptable, rental. It is spacious and clean, in a quiet community. So quiet - It was excessively quiet and our kids felt like had to whisper like they were at the library while in the swimming at the pool (If only I had that problem at home - LOL). The property has a cute park nearby, but it is basically townhomes, parking and pavement, and a tiny community pool.
We were able to walk to the quaint downtown area for shopping and restaurants, it's a bit of a hike but provided some nice exercise. We went to the nearby beach one day and drove because it is a hike with your beach gear. That beach is excessively noisy and crowded, some sketchy types blasting music and doing Zumba on the beach, cigarette smoke and weed wafting up your nostrils. If that's your thing, you'll love it. It's not our idea for enjoying the beach and relaxing so we opted to drive to one of the quieter beaches which we liked much better.
The home is decently appointed in terms of kitchen gear. The furniture was minimal and dated and the sofas were pretty uncomfortable, but we had nice weather so we didn't have to be inside most of the time. Our biggest issue was the mattresses. All of them, in every room, were terribly uncomfortable. It's a rental, so it's not hard to imagine the owners bought the cheapest they could find, but our backs were killing us (including my two young boys). Very hard and lumpy. The Master did not have a comforter, just basically a throw blanket. I was happy to have opted to bring our own sheets to at least have that, but an foam topper for these things would go a long way. We also do not have back or joint issues, so if you do, this is probably not the property you want to sleep at.
Most other properties we've stayed at similar to this had some games or puzzles for rainy days, some beach chairs and a cart so you don't have to bring from home. This house had none. We fortunately called about this and brought our own, so know before you go. It's really so inexpensive to just provide your renters some Uno cards and a puzzle, a few beach chairs. So again, it just sort of says something about the owners.
Also, we were given two e-mails with different gate codes, so it seems we received one, then it was changed and we received another. It took a bit to straighten this out and the confusion was avoidable. It's doubtful we would stay here again - not bad, but not good either. Mediocre.
