Your first trip is on us!  Go Rafting, Ziplining, Trail Riding, Escape Room, or Mountain Bike Rental and the first admission is on us.  This is a $50-$100 value per day.  With what you save in free activities will almost cover the nightly rate!

Duck's Nest Retreat is true rustic budget cabin in the woods.  Along with being pet friendly it is a secluded creek side cabin on 5 acres with a private pond. It is a great place to enjoy the solitude and disconnect as you are fairly remote. Minutes to Ocoee river whitewater rafting, zipline, hiking, and tubing.  Enjoy the sounds of the rushing creek that runs past the cabin to the pond below from inside. Rocking chair front porch overlooking your own private stocked pond. Large 1-bedroom loft with a queen bed and a futon. The living room has a large flat-screen smart TV with local Dish reception. Gather around the wood-burning fireplace for those chilly nights. Plenty of outdoor living space for family and friends with an outdoor fire pit. Don't let this one pass you up.
*Please note there is a pond.  There are also large Koi in the pond. These are to be treated like the owners' pets and not harmed or removed as they are counted regularly.*

**This cabin does allow pets but there is an additional pet cleaning fee of $75 per pet per stay.**

You are minutes from restaurants and a couple of breweries like Copperhill Brewery.

*Please Note that security cameras are covering the parking/driveway area where there is no expectation of privacy.

*When leaving the property you have to travel the driveway which inclines as you leave. You MUST keep your momentum going, stay on the gas, and DO NOT STOP when pulling out. There are only 3 houses on this road and the chance of you meeting traffic is very slim. If you stop at the top to pull out you WILL get stuck!

Duck's Nest cabin
The listing stated that the private pond was stocked for fishing, just to leave the koy fish alone... only other fish in the pond are tiny 2-3 inch perch and the like. That was a major factor in choosing this property was the stocked pond for fishing, was very disappointed. The stove top just doesn't work very well for cooking your own meals. I know electric burners aren't the greatest to begin with but these would not hold temperature, barely got a pot of water to boil! The house sits very uneven, it's a nice cabin but needs structural work. Turns into a "fun house" after a few drinks as the whole house slopes in different directions! We found out the reason they ask you not to move any furniture around is because most of it is broken and shoddily fixed. Caught a nice sized mouse on the first night of our stay, in one of the glue traps under the kitchen sink. I suppose it's to be expected, being in the woods on top of a mountain, it was just unpleasant/unexpected.

A Cute Quiet Hideaway
Had a great time staying here! Was definitely secluded and quiet Like I was hoping, was in a very pretty area. the cabin itself was nice, could be a little cleaner but that's easily fixable. Will let people know, the path to the pond is quite steep and not the easiest terrain for some. Overall was very happy with our stay here!

Relaxing Getaway
Overall this place was awesome for us and our pet. It was very quiet and relaxing with plenty of room to roam around the property. Cabin is a short drive to some awesome restaurants in copperhill/McCaysville and other activities if you want to get out. Overall it was a lovely place and we definitely plan to return to the area and explore more trails.

Cozy cabin on the pond
The cabin was cozy and had everything needed for our short stay. Cleaners need to do better on cobwebs and windowsills. It was cool enough to open up the windows but the sills were filthy. The main bed was not comfortable for 2 people to share; it rolls you to the middle and the fitted sheet kept coming off. The hide-a-bed was uncomfortable as well. The water pressure in the shower was pitiful and regulating the temperature was tricky. We loved the kitchen and the hot tub. The view into the woods and the sound of the babbling brook was delightful. Enjoyed watching the koi swimming in the pond.
