Omori is a small peaceful town on the edge of Lake Taupo with plenty of outdoor activities on offer. Spend your days out on the water kayaking, water-skiing, fly-fishing for rainbow trout in the Tongariro River, or sampling many of the lovely walking tracks in the area.

For the thrill-seekers mountain bike trails for all levels are within a 30 minute drive of Omori. Whakapapa is also only a 40 minute drive away for ski enthusiasts or else to go sightseeing up the gondola in all seasons
