You will be able to self check-in upon arrival.
The house is in a quiet private community. Mountain sports of every kind are found all year round (skiing, hiking, biking, white water rafting, etc). The house is near Jack Frost Ski Resort and the town of Jim Thorpe, an idyllic old town with restaurants and shops, as well as an opera house. It is rich with history!!
You will need a car.
Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site.
1) No smoking of any kind please. No fireworks. No parties without prior approval. If detected, there will be a fine of $250.
2) The thermostats are marked with an arrow in the ON and OFF position. During cold weather, turn the heat up to to the “ON” position on arrival only in the rooms you will be using. In the rooms you will not be using, keep the thermostat as it is, with the door closed.
3) Heat (please read carefully):
Turn thermostats down to the “OFF” arrow if you will be gone for more than an hour.
Turn all thermostats down to the “OFF” arrow before you leave.
When you go to bed, turn the living room thermostat down to the “OFF” arrow.
4) You will need to bring your own firewood & lighter to use fireplace.
If you use the fireplace, be sure to open the flue prior to lighting the fire. There is a handle in the front top of the fireplace to open and close the flue. If you are unsure if it is open/closed, please put your hand up toward the chimney from the inside and you will hit the flue if it is closed. Do not light a fire on your last day, as the ashes need to dry out. Close the flue before you leave.
5) Trash bags must be disposed of in dumpster by Administration Office during or after your stay. Please do not leave trash outside as this can attract unwanted critters. =(
6)Leave the key that you took out of the lockbox in the lockbox at the end of your stay.
7) If you open the back door, gently pull the screen open and closed to keep animals and insects from entering the house.
8) Put all food away in the refrigerator and cupboards when you are not eating, and please tie the trash bags closed before you leave. DO NOT put them outside. This can attract bears!
9) Help yourself to breakfast items. Make sure the coffee basket in the coffee maker is firmly in place or it will leak. We provide basic items which may include coffee, pancake mix & syrup, oatmeal, cereal and English muffins.
10) You have access to the house, but please do not attempt to use the other amenities in Towamensing Trails (including the trash dump, the pool, the clubhouse, etc.).
11) Before leaving, kindly strip the used sheets off of the bed. If beds have not been used, please leave the sheets on.
12) Supplies can be purchased at the Dollar Store on Route 903 near Old Stage Road, or at the Hazle Meat Market (which usually has firewood) a bit further down on Route 903 just past the 534.
13) Noise: Please keep music and other noise at a level that neighbors cannot hear it.
14) When you check out, please make sure that all indoor and outdoor lights are off.
15) If anyone under 21 is in the group, someone 25+ must book the reservation and must be on premise at all times.
16) Due to the township ordinance, we can only have a maximum of 10 people on property at any time. If this rule is broken, you will be fined.
17) If the cleaners reported a missing towel or soiled beyond repair, there will be a $10 charge per towel
Noise level:
We use smart home technology to improve your experience. NoiseAware is a smart home device that measures volume levels throughout the property, and allows us to respond to noise nuisances without disrupting your stay. NoiseAware is privacy compliant and is required on this property.
If more than the number of booked occupants are detected by neighbors or outside cameras, the stay will be immediately terminated and no refund will be issued. No cameras inside.
