Donner Lake Delight | Watersports

Welcome to Donner Lake Delight, a home that is minutes from crystal blue water that offers phenomenal fishing, watersport rentals, and shorelines ideal for swimming.

The home is perfect for a large family or group who is looking to relax and explore the beauty of Truckee and surrounding areas. Upon entering, head upstairs to enter the heart of the home, a large living room with a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace, mounted smart TV, and beams of natural light from the large windows that open up to the deck and lush greenery.

Back inside, the kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and cookware to whip up a delicious meal from home. Steps away, the dining table for 6 is perfect for family-style dining or game night. From the dining area, you have access to a large deck from a sliding glass door.

The home sleeps up to 10 people comfortably between 4 spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom is fully furnished with neutral decor and cozy linens to ensure you and your fellow guests have a restful stay.

Bedroom #1 is located on the ground floor and has a King bed, a beautiful stone fireplace feature, and an en-suite. The en-suite has a double vanity and shower/tub combo.

The remaining 3 bedrooms are on the main living floor and have access to a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo.
Bedroom #2 has a Double-over-Double bunk bed
Bedroom #3 has a Queen bed
Bedroom #4 has a King bed

THINGS TO NOTE:
- A bear box is located at the end of the driveway for safe trash disposal.
- The washer/dryer is available for guest use.
- There is space for up to 3 vehicles; 1 in the garage and 2 in the driveway.
- 4WD/Snow Tires are required to get up the driveway in months with snowfall.

Truckee is a small town in Northern California with some big-time soul becoming a hotspot for outdoor enthusiasts in recent years because of its access to an endless list of outdoor attractions:
- 20 minutes to Northstar, Boreal, Soda Spring and Palisades Tahoe (under 15 minutes to Donner Ski Ranch and Sugar Bowl)
- 15 minutes to premier granite walls for top rope and sport rock climbing.
- Walking distance to Donner Lake, Stick's Market, and Donner Lake Kitchen – best breakfast spot in Tahoe!

Olympic Drive House
Large house well equipped for a family. Location is fantastic. Internet was fast and reliable for remote work. Driveway is quite steep and can be slippery in heavy snow, but manageable with AWD.

Terrible/Filthy Choice - Recently Acquired Property Not Ready For Rental Yet w/Bad Customer Service
Looks great in pictures, but awful in person. I recommend avoiding this property. Based on my experience I would also avoid booking w/Grand Welcome ever. Due to review length limitations, I will sum this up as best I can. Before arriving, I called about early check-in. After 30 mins on hold a rep answered & I got a pre-canned speech outlining their policy & was told only that they would contact their "on-site team" for availability and would text me when they got an answer. No text was received over 24 hrs. I tried messaging through Vrbo, & got another pre-canned message w/no info & again they would contact the on-site team. I received no further contact through Vrbo despite attempts. Having dealt w/this, I knew there was no point contacting them during the stay & suffered through the terrible stay at this location & its many issues after arrival: -Driveway isn't plowed well (despite no recent snowfall), shovel provided for snow removal was broken, & no salt to put down on ice. Thus access to 1 side of the garage was difficult. ¼ the garage is taken up w/boxes. Parking was not IAW listing (w/no disclaimer in listing). We struggled parking 3 cars, while the listing claims space for 6 -Not enough towels are provided for 10 ppl; towels all had black hairs on them = disgusting! No wash cloths were provided & there was only 1 or 2 hand towels for entire house. No dish towels in kitchen -Carpet was dirty & almost didn't look like it was even cleaned. The house felt dirty overall & the couch had a comb & candy wrappers left in the cracks; cleanliness did not feel like a priority -Upstairs bathroom had rusty curtain rod & the downstairs bathroom didn't have a curtain. Kitchen sink faucet was broken, & we had issues w/the dishwasher not working properly -Items you would need (extra towels, trash bags, etc) are not in expected places. Most shelves/closets are empty w/random items like: lightbulbs, cleaning supplies, empty boxes, trash -Fireplaces wouldn’t light; frustrating since downstairs bedroom was extremely cold at night -Upstairs bedroom w/king bed was so uncomfortable we couldn't use it. Resorted to sleeping on the couch. The bed was crazy firm & sloped down on all sides. It was completely AWFUL. This bedroom got extremely hot at night Lots is broken & it is not truly ready for use as a vacation rental. Customer service & interaction w/host is a JOKE. I would highly advise against staying here & will avoid staying w/The Grand Welcome ever again.

Avoid listing from grand welcome
First, the customer service is a joke. The phone call or email is answered by a remote team. The responses are always “ I will let the on-site team know”. And the on-site team never respond or maybe not even exist. I checked after the fact and saw also negative feedbacks on the other property at incline village they listed about their customer service. Checked Grand welcome website, they manage vacation houses in multiple locations but seems don’t have experience in Lake Tahoe. When we arrived, we found the steep drive way is covered with ice. Left side garage door is blocked by snow and the right side garage is locked and no garage opener is installed. Our only choice is to remove the ice and park three SUVs on the steep driveway. BUT we cannot find any snow removal tool in the house! We went to neighbors for help, they are surprised and say we should call the owner. I explained why that is not possible and borrowed 2 shavers. We spend 1.5h removed some ice and parked our cars. As the snow will be expected in three days I requested they bring some tool and salt to the house. They said they will let the the on-site team know. But of cause nothing is happened. Three days later, we have to end our vacation earlier or otherwise we will be trapped on the driveway with no tool to remove the snow. Second, the house condition is bad. This is a new listing, but controversy, the carpet is dirty, toilet in the downstairs is broken, the pole above the bath tab is rusty, the AC has bad smell, the upstairs king mattress is bad. The dishwasher doesn’t have dry function or that function is broken. No hair dryer. And you need to find the soap in storage and fill the bottle. It seems they bought an old house, brought in some cheap used furniture and list it as vacation house.
