Newcastle East has an amazing vibe. There is a beautiful sense of community and a relaxed, feel-good aura as you walk around the historic, beachside streets.
Sunday afternoons are a great time to get out and explore, with local restaurants and bars contributing to the chilled out scene. Scotties Fish Cafe is a favourite of locals where they will occasionally have a DJ under the palm trees outside with locals flocking to lay out their picnic rugs and grab some fish and chips to eat under the trees and the colour string lights. It's situated in the middle of Zaara Street which looks down to Newcastle Beach.
Walking around is so easy as it only takes 5-10 mins to get to some of the local restaurant gems. The light rail is in the middle of Scott Street, which makes it convenient to get down town, should you wish to explore the West End aswell.
The scenery is gorgeous, with beaches and swimming spots within walking distance. There are lookouts and local walking tracks conveniently located near the property. Parks and playgrounds for a spot of fitness or a play with the kids.
If you're after a healthy bite to eat, smoothie, or Acai bowl, check out The Kiosk at Newcastle Beach or the locally owned juice bar in Hunter Street for a juice, yoghurt, soup or fruit salad. .
