Other things to note
For those interested in a County wine tour, Water’s Edge is a convenient pick up location. There are many wine tours available in PEC. We use A1 Limousine for our own County tours. Some of my favourite wineries include Norman Hardie (famous for their Chardonnay and wood fired pizza), The Grange, Hinterland (sparkling wine), Huff Estates (check out Oeno Gallery outdoor sculpture garden too), Closson Chase, Sandbanks Estates Winery, Rosehall Run, Waupoos Estates Winery and Restaurant and Karlo Estates, to name a few. For beer, check out Parsons, Prince Eddy’s, Matron, Slake, 555 Brewing Co (try their amazing pizza) and Midtown (try their truffle fries too!). If you’re looking for a fantastic view while you enjoy delicious cocktails, head to Lakeside Motel, The Drake Devonshire (especially for a good brunch) or County Cider Co in Waupoos for delicious ciders and pizzas. Don’t miss a leisurely day of exploring the Arts Trail and Wine Trail. For summer travellers, please reserve County restaurants well in advance to avoid disappointment. Some of my favourite restaurants are Flame and Smith, Bocado (expensive tapas), La Condesa, Angeline’s, Sand and Pearl, Bermuda, Hartley’s Tavern, and The Royal Hotel. If you’re looking for a quick burger/sandwich stop, check out Flossie’s Sandwiches (connected to Carson’s Garden Market to buy all of your local treasures). Don’t miss out on delicious homemade County ice cream at Slickers in Bloomfield or Picton (famous for their Campfire flavour). Lots of wonderful boutiques and art shops in Bloomfield, Wellington and Picton including Luna Boutique (Picton), Cannery Row (Bloomfield), PEC t shirt company for souvenirs and many others. Check out The Main Character in Picton for a spa day. Beaches and hiking trails are everywhere...Sandbanks (must book passes on Ontario Parks well in advance), Dunes, Point Petrie, Lakeshore Lodge, Little Bluff and Lake on the Mountain are all spectacular.
