This beautiful single-storey cottage is an ideal holiday home for a couples’ retreat with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines.. All on the Ground Floor:

Kitchen: Electric Cooker, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Machine

Travel cot available on request. Welcome pack. Lawned garden with garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Mill Force Cottage is located next door to the owner’s home within their grounds with complete picturesque woodlands, well maintained gardens and free range chickens roaming in the courtyard. This is a traditional Dales style property which is ideal for couples looking to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Warm, spacious and very comfortable, there is plenty of room in this single-storey property. A bright and airy living room has views overlooking the adjacent meadow and the dining area is across from a well-stocked bookcase with books, local tourist information, DVDs and a gallery of local images to inspire your days out. The kitchen has everything you need to start the day with a hearty breakfast, or to cook a delightful evening meal, but with the local pub serving excellent food just 5 minutes’ walk from the cottage, you could be tempted away very easily. The large bedroom has a comfortable double bed, wake up from a good night’s sleep and refresh and revive in the en-suite bathroom.
A garden to the side of the property enjoys the woodland flora and fauna, overlooking a wild meadow home to the owner’s friendly pigs. Just past the cottage is an open camping field, belonging to the estate, but you are more than welcome to bring a picnic blanket and grab a spot and enjoy the evening with a bottle and nibbles, watching the amazing sunsets over the Pennine Hills.
There is plenty to see nearby with the traditional village of Bowes and its impressive ruins of a 12th century keep just a short walk away, or the beautiful nearby market town of Barnard Castle with a medieval castle, market days and a whole host of tearooms and antique shops to enjoy. With large parts of Teesdale falling within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you have plenty to see and do within easy reach. Visit the breathtaking sight of England’s highest waterfall, High Force, or Raby Castle with a wealth of history just waiting to be discovered, and for art lovers, the Bowes Museum, a French style Château in Barnard Castle, has an extensive collection of European art. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
