Absolutely stunning secluded peaceful location. Great for wildlife photography. Just sitting by the lake. Saw a kingfisher but it didn’t land. Muntjacs and hares a plenty. The outside bath was fun though as I mentioned my only observation was there were no toiletries in bathrooms which I would have expected in this price range and also either a larger towel or dressing gown for when you exit the lovely outside bath as it’s not heatwave weather anymore! Truly a good find for those of us who prefer quiet seclusion and nature.

James and katie were lovely hosts and made the stay feel special.

James and katie were lovely hosts and made the stay feel special. . The property was well appointed and the setting was extremely beautiful. Small downside is the quarter of a mile track leading to the house which is a little rough on the tyres. Also the double bed could have been a little more comfortable.Overall a lovely break in very peaceful surroundings.

Stillwater is a beautiful place, very picturesque and tranquil, definitely the place to go to relax.

Stillwater is a beautiful place, very picturesque and tranquil, definitely the place to go to relax. The views and wildlife are wonderful and the lodge itself is lovely, it has everything you could possibly need and a great welcome package to enjoy. There's a pub and shop within walking distance and plenty of places to visit if you hop in the car. I noticed other reviews mention the farm track leading up to the retreat, we have a very low car, with low skirts and found the track was not a problem at all . All in all we had a wonderful week there and definitely recommend Stillwater and look forward to returning.
