Renting this property was a smooth process from start to finish! The host was incredibly accommodating and communicative, and the property was in excellent shape. Such a great place to spend the weekend!

Needed cleaning, mold in shower areas, registers for HVAC intakes filthy and no filters in them. No extra toilet paper or paper towels and did not have full rolls upon entering property. Overall mildew smell in house. Opened house windows to ventilate but did not resolve mildew smell. Location convient for our needs.

Wife’s birthday getaway, she was still getting over an injured ankle. Had we known about so many steps, we wouldn’t stayed there. Beds were poor quality, downstairs bedroom was mildewy odor, outside front door lights were burned out & one missing bulb, missing battery in left bedroom smoke detector, kitchen counters coming from wall, towel bar on upstairs bathroom coming loose, one chair in living room has big burn hole, left bathroom shower doors were off tracks, upstairs toilet keeps hanging up, boat dock partially attached and dangerous to get to. This location of house was perfect however, several DYI medications. This property valued at least 1.5 M on Zillow should have better quality beds and especially king size beds. Forget moving in these beds, EVERYONE will hear the squeaking. Bath towels need to be replaced and Yard maintenance needed

This property is a great location. Bed linens and bath towels were nice, soft and clean. The house is spacious. Some attention to detail is highly recommended. The bedroom to the left of the front door needs some work. The bathroom’s shower door was off the tract and the closet door in that room didn’t work. also in that bedroom the vent cover was dirty and rusty. Some lightbulbs needed changing in the house. another help would have been to label the tv remotes. If these items were fixed, I would stay there again.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Communication was easy, directions were spot on and the home was very conveniently located next to downtown Highlands. The home itself, while dated, was very clean. Our only disappointment was that the deck furniture and deck were not set-up and cleaned off. There were cobwebs all over the deck and a thick layer of pollen on all the furniture. Since we wanted to enjoy some outdoor time we had to clean it all ourselves.

I’ve stayed in many VRBOs, and this is the most dated property I’ve ever stayed in (and the only one I’ve ever given a less-than-5-star review for). This is a very dated and old property. The pictures are slightly misleading, as the property is pretty tired. The carpets are old, there are many places in the floor where the subfloor was sagging and you have to avoid stepping on, a bed broke when we were there because it was many decades old, it had a damp smell throughout the house. A door to the bathroom wouldn’t shut. The water in the lake isn’t swimmable. It doesn’t look like many, if any, updates have been made to the house in years. The positive: The views of the water are pretty, and it’s close to town. The host was responsive and the check in process was easy.

Had a girls bday celebration trip and really enjoyed our stay. The big living and dining room were perfect gathering spaces to accommodate us all together. Fireplace was nice to use on the chilly nights. Enjoyed the deck and beautiful views as well. Overall the house was nice and clean except for the air vent in one of the rooms was covered in dust. All in all had a great visit.

Beautiful mountain property

Great location and great home. My entire family loved it and there’s tons of space to enjoy. The view of the lake, trees, and mountains are gorgeous. Highly recommend.

We were in town for a wedding and this house had everything that we were hoping for... the property owner also was extremely communicative and helpful with our situation and it is a perfect location and house for multiple people and has everything that you would need!

Weekend Family Trip

The house was great for our family. We loved that we each had a private bedroom and bathroom. The house was very clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed. We were there in the fall so we didn't really enjoy the outdoor area but enjoyed the home very much.

Great Host and Property

The house was perfect for our family, very roomy and comfortable and less than 5 minutes drive to main street. Had some issues during check-in with access between the guest house and the main house, but this was resolved quickly by the host and he was very understanding. We would definitely stay again in the future.
