About this property

Heather Heights Cottage - Cozy cabin with a View and Fire Pit, minutes to Boone!

Classic mountain charm meets modern sensibilities in this cozy getaway cabin! Originally built as one of the first summer homes in the Crystal Mountain community, this home has been updated and redecorated top to bottom as of 2018 and is ready for you and your loved ones to enjoy.

The home features level paved partially covered parking and just one step to enter. The first thing you notice upon entry is the exposed beams and vaulted ceiling drawing your eye upward. The kitchen is on your right upon entry and has black appliances and a large bar for food prep space as well as secondary seating. There is a round dining table to the left in a little nook, perfect for 5 to sit and enjoy a meal together. A selection of couches and chairs are arranged around a woodburning fireplace with a large TV mounted above it, and there are sliding glass doors leading to the deck.

Down the hall from the great room is a hall bath with a glass block shower, with two bedrooms at the end of the hall. Each bedroom has a Queen bed. The room on the right has a washer & dryer tucked into the closet, and the room on the left has doors leading out to the deck.

There is a separate living area & bedroom suite on the lower level of the house, accessed either from the outside set of stairs or a partially covered set of stairs leading from the hallway. This second living area has a kitchenette, table, living space with a loveseat, full bath with tub/shower, and a bedroom with a Full-sized bed and a door to a quiet deck with rockers.

Outside the house, a gravel path connects the cottage to the lot next door where a firepit awaits in front of a large natural boulder outcropping. Evenings of fun with the family await for making smores and roasting hot dogs!

Please note there is room for no more than three cars to park at this home.

Located between Boone & Blowing Rock, just minutes into either town, Heather Heights Cottage is a wonderful home base for all your High Country adventures!

I would not stay here again and their property manager is not very responsive
We booked this place as a quick getaway for an extended weekend of skiing on 1/13/24. However, the place was extremely cold, with no heat air traveling to the rooms. We had to call their property manager, Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals, multiple times before someone came out. When the technician came out, he couldn't do anything and just said that he would bring some portable heaters. In the meantime, the next day, we had to call the property manager, and they moved us to another location that would not be available until that evening. Unfortunately, we spent a good few hours waiting and kept calling and sending the other people to a ski resort while my wife and I were waiting at the house. When we were speaking to one of their agents, they mentioned that they might be able to get a refund due to what we were going through. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to wait for them to respond. Well, that was wishful thinking. No calls except for the automated "take our survey" emails. I called them again on 1/25 and left a voicemail. Still no calls from them. Very unfortunate.

Great views - cabin feel - well stocked
The property was in great shape, they provided a pretty well stocked kitchen. Had 2 firepits to use so that was a nice touch. We do wish that the shower head worked better and that the bathroom was cleaner. Also, there is only one bathroom for 3 rooms, so took some managing with kids. Overall the location was pretty quiet and a nice escape from reality.

Great getaway in the woods
House was good size a little smaller than what the pictures showed. Bathroom upstairs really needs a good cleaning mold all over shower. Floors needed a little scrubbing. Downstairs was nice but smelled musty. Dehumidifier was full and the water holding tank was very moldy.
