We loved staying here, perfect location, perfect atmosphere, ideal for staying out of the Summer heat, while relaxing with friends. Cannot wait to stay again and recommend to others.
Great place to stay for attending a Galveston wedding
Three couples stayed here while attending a wedding. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Parking was always available and it was a great location. We would definitely stay again.
I wont be able to compliment this property enough so i will try to keep it simple. Also, Im a licensed plumber that manages many new construction and remodeling projects in Oklahoma.
The property has been renovated, updated plumbing system, updated appliances etc. My only issue is that bathrooms should have had elongated toilet bowls instead of round installed but just my personal preference. Having looked over the upgrades and the hvac system updated with premium temp controls and the kind of furniture and atmosphere inside the house tells me the management or owner cares. Not sure who takes care of that part but I can tell somone cares about this house more than most do with rental properties. The pictures dont do it justice, you would just have to see it with your eyeballs. The location is another added bonus, its centrally located between pleasure pier and old fashion chocolate shop downtown. I enjoyed everything about this house even the old style fancy tubs w the same style lavatories. The rental is perfect for anyone but I would keep an eye on small kids around the stairs and antique looking things. The rental comes stocked with everything you need except for food obviously but i was surprised to see laundry soap ready to use. On a side note, be prepared for tourists attending the evening ghost tours for the house across the street. Since the house is old you can easily hear people from outside. It wasnt an issue for me but it may bother someone else.Overall 👍
We enjoyed staying here for a sisters getaway. The place was well appointed, clean and close to many things. We were overall very pleased with the property, but found the master bedroom and bathroom situation very awkward. The listing stated that it had two full baths, and while it did, the bathroom for the upstairs master bedroom was downstairs. There was an upstairs adjoining bathroom for the two other upstairs bedrooms, so if the person sleeping in the master bedroom had to go to the bathroom, they either had to go through someone else's bedroom upstairs to use that bathroom, or go downstairs. That situation was not ideal. The only other "issue" with the property was that all outdoor furnitures was very very dirty, and the "water feature" outside was basically a plastic insert that just attracted mosquitoes. I believe that whoever wrote the property listing should have been upfront about the master bedroom not having a bathroom "en suite."
We traveled from our home in Port Aransas and
My Wife's parents traveled from the DFW Metro area.
My wife's family; both Father & Mother (now 85), and all GParents & GGParents were raised in Galveston.
It was a return to family roots so the next generation could learn some family history.
The central Location, East of 61st, was exactly where we wanted to be. House has easy access from the street parking.
This house is so homey...very clean. All the furnishing to have a wonderful vacation. The beds are so comfortable..
I highly recommend this home for your next vacation!!!
We fell in love with this place minutes after arrival. It just felt warm and inviting. Super clean and the decor just makes you feel right at home. The online pictures don't do it justice. The beds felt new, no caving into the middle kind of mattress. With a bathroom upstairs and downstairs there is plenty of space for everyone to get cleaned up. The kitchen had a state of the art gas stove. The walks in the old neighborhoods led to many historical markers. The beach is just minutes away too. We also walked to a couple local restaurants that were fabulous. We only had one negative... we didn't stay long enough! Thanks for taking great care of us.
