It is a hidden gem. Although it is so close to the Vatican once you walk through the main doors you enter a beautiful tranquil garden. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the breakfast is over the top. I would stay at this hotel again and have recommended it to my friends already.

It is a great location, steps from Saint Peters Square. Very charming hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff. I had some issues with the wifi and lack of communication between reception and my room when asking for support. The selling feature is also the courtyard, it is so beautiful.

What an amazing location right beside the Vatican. Beautiful 500+ year old monastery and delightful B and B. The interior garden was a peaceful retreat from the busy street outside and a welcome after a day of sightseeing.

Awesome location, safe and private despite being at the base of Saint Peter’s Square. This was especially important as we were two women visiting Rome. Rooms have marble floors and are extremely clean. Bathrooms are small but efficient. I can’t say enough great things about the cleaning staff and front desk staff.

The location is perfect! Just a ‘stone’s throw away from St. Peter’s. The hotel is beautifully appointed, very clean, bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning was quiet and worked very well. Breakfast was also very good - typical North American fare along with more European breads, cold meats, cheese, salad. The inner courtyard and garden beautiful - very peaceful and tranquil after a day of sight seeing. The outdoor terrace adjacent to the garden made for a very restful spot to relax, have a glass of wine or coffee and reflect on the day. The concierge was very helpful in recommending good places to eat. Depending on how you travel...my only advice for improvement would be to have improved room service hours or have tea/coffee service (at least a kettle) in the room. If you are an early riser and would like to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee when you get up you are out of luck so to speak. Our hotel in Florence was well appointed in this manner and it was very lovely to have a cup of tea before going to bed or when getting up early in the morning. There is a bar fridge in the room with some room for your own water bottle if you want to keep a drink cold. All in all I would certainly recommend the Palazzo Cardinal Cesi without hesitation.

Great hotel. A 5 minute walk to St. Peter's Square

It was my 50th birthday. I wanted a hotel that's near St. Peter's Basilica, so I checked the internet's reviews, that's how I got Palazzo Cardinal Cesi. The moment my husband and I walked in the hotel, there's something different about the place, Its like a hotel and a museum in one. The room is very clean, might not be that big but very cozy and we felt comfortable and relaxed. At their beautiful and romantic garden is a bar where my husband and I spent sometime to drink beer or wine whenever we get a chance, before we go to bed. Breakfast is so good, there's lots to choose from. And I will never forget about the staff who are very friendly and helpful. One time, my husband asked the person at the front desk about how to get to Roma Termini (regional train terminal) because we have a train ticket going to Venice. That person was very patient in giving us the details of using the bus and where to buy the bus ticket, etc. I'll go to this hotel again someday if we have a chance to go back to Rome.

Nice hotel next to Vatican City!

Great experience at this hotel! We were walking distance to all the sights and located right next to Vatican City. The staff were very helpful and recommended some great tours and restaurants. Room was small, but clean. Shower was tiny and difficult to move in. That would be my only complaint. Breakfast included every morning and includes bacon and eggs which was a nice change from the standard continental breakfast provided by most hotels. Overall a great time and I would reccoment this hotel!

Great location in centre

Great location adjacent to St Peters Basilica. Open courtyard to relax and have dinner or drinks after a long day of sight seeing. Rooms are decent size with all the necessities. Hotel has decent free wifi and awesome breakfast.

Beautiful boutique hotel, so close to Vatican

You can see St Peters from the front door. Beautiful courtyard that offers a cool, quiet oasis. Pristine clean, beautiful marble floors, crisp linens, rooms are small but have everything you need and is the perfect European experience. Days were hots so nice to return to a cool room. Will absolutely stay here on next visit.
