It was a cold night when I came to HK and I thought I turned on the heat to 23c thru the control in the room, it turned out there was no heating and the front desk of the hotel did not tell me when I checked in. I woke up middle of the night feeling very cold and called front desk and found out there was no heating. Someone deliver a small heater later but I did not sleep well, almost caught a cold

Great location

Great location for access to walking, hiking, and green space in HK! Grocery store across the street which was very convenient. We had a one-bedroom suite which was perfect for our five day stay. Breakfast is included each day, and the hotel has a 24 hour gym and laundry! We would stay here again.

Fantastic stay and would recommend especially for a longer stay. Loved the location by the botanical garden! Kitchen/ tv room gave extra space when staying indoors, daily breakfast included, close to a grocery store, daily shuttle to downtown central where you will find shopping and easy to use metro. Laundry facility useful. Excellent!

Only stayed one night en-route to Singapore. Yet, received a free upgrade to a suite. Even though parts of the hotel are undergoing exterior renovations, my suite was spacious by Hong Kong standards, clean and quiet. Breakfast in the AM was a nice bonus! Overall, can’t beat Two MacDonnell Road for comfort and value. Would most definitely stay again whilst visiting Hong Kong!

We stayed at Twp MacDonald through the Super Typhoon and the following week. We were very comfortable and felt safe through the storm. Very helpful that there is a well stocked mini-supermarket within easy walk. Would definitely stay there again

Good place to stay with

This is the second stayed with this property within a month for 2018 First week I stayed in a business suite, very good, borrowed the steam iron and iron board, working perfect. Range top work fine for making some snacks. After the trip to Japan, I stayed in a standard suite, a little bit smaller, few flaw with this period of stay is the iron supplied was broken leaking water with the iron board not standing straight since one cross support was missing plus the range top did not turn on. Had to contact front desk and got it replaced. The rest of the 10 days stayed was good, but the first week stayed quality seems a little bit better. The best part is the stuff are well trained and rated good to excellent customer service standard. Myself gone through hotels in Europe a lot mainly focus in Swiss Alpine area (booked through by Swiss Tourism Board), two Macdonnell some area outbid them. Have to give thumb up for Michael and his team looking after all the service from front lobby, reception, room service, maintenance to head chef. Job well done

Great choice

Great location. Either walk down to Central through Zoological garden or take very frequent #12 bus outside entrance. Friendly and good value. Not fancy.

A taxi bandit dragged my wifes luggage to a remote taxi stand at the airport . I assumed he was a taxi driver . He knew my destination was the remote 2 McDonnell Road in Hong Kong. The actual taxi driver was already in the car and demanded 1859 Hong Kong dollars for a 400 HK $ ride. The hotel staff tried to prevent us from connecting with the HK Police ... and although the manger had a CCTV video of the taxi he did not forward to the Police. Recommend all guests avoid this hotel as well as Hong Kong. Have provided HK Police a photo of taxi culprit and blurred image of taxi licenses. but based on HK Police delays expect no help at all. Key thing is to avoid HK airport where poor layout, poor signage and long distances promote taxi scams.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff are polite and helpful, the room is clean and has a good view. The free shuttle bus provided convenient transportation to the ifc mall. A very comfortable "home away from Home".

We have changed room because of cigarette smel coming through the ventilation system. Depite an upgrade to Executive Suite, the condition of the suite was appalling. Stain on air-conditioning diffuser, old curtains and problematic flushing system. Services were not impressive and very slow to respond to complaints. (Reception were polite and corteous but services follow were not up to par.)

Outstanding service. Superb restaurant.

My wife and I received 10 days of professional, attentive, unobtrusive service from everyone: doormen, desk, restaurant & room service staff. Our 1 br suite was immaculately appointed and cared for daily. The reception area and restaurant, situated on the 8th floor are understatedly stylish & comfortable. Cabs are available at a moment's notice. Shuttle, 12A bus, & minibuses are frequent. Walking is outstanding (we like the mountainside location). We'll return with our adult children & spouses.

Quiet or Bustle?

A bit off the beaten path. So very quiet in Hong Kong standards. If you want quiet, then this place is good. If you wish to stroll and browse shops there aren’t much.

Convenient and comfortable

Bus stop is just across the building and it's fairly easy to get a taxi at departure. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is the bathroom. It's clean enough but in the deeper corners I know there's build up of dirt. I also think it's due for an upgrade, the hair dryer is still the old fashioned wall-mount hair dryer. Overall still a very pleasant and comfortable stay and I would come here again.
