Brilliant hotel

Hotel is excellent but the rooms and bathrooms are too small. All the rooms bed linens towels are fresh

Comfortable and quiet hotel

Very friendly staff and comfortable well-decorated and very clean room. The room is slightly on a small side, but that did not cause us any problem. The location, although close to St Pancras and King’s Cross is on a quiet side street, so had a peaceful night.

The House of Toby was ideally located for a city break. The hotel staff were friendly and willing to go above and beyond for their customers. We would highly recommend this hotel for its central location. We were able to drop our suitcases off within minutes of being of the train at King Cross.

Great stay

Th staff were extremely friendly and polite. The room was perfectly clean, tidy and modern. Also the bed was very comfy and the bathroom was very well equipped. The only issue was very minor, there was some construction work going on that was quite loud from around 8am. Although the checkout time was 10am, so we were up anyway.

Fantastic little gem

The House of Toby is a fantastic little gem of a hotel. Super close to kings cross, rooms were clean and modern styling. There was a heatwave during my stay and the Aircon made all the difference. Overall I had a fantastic stay and if I come to London again, this will be first on my list!

Staff was excellent and attentive. Breakfast was good in value and price. Very clean. Only problem: room is very small. I guess we can’t expect bigger room in London, especially in such central and convenient locations.

I enjoyed my stay at Toby’s - super centrally located, amazing and kind staff, I felt safe and well cared for. The room was small but as soon as I’d settled in it didn’t bother me at all: very cozy and the dark blue panelling is a classy touch. Compared to London’s hotel offering I felt the value for money was spot on. As you should expect when in central London, there’s city and traffic noises, but with earplugs I slept well.

We stayed in a 4 person room. It had all been recently renovated. Room was a little tight but most London rooms are so adjust your expectations. There are some nice nuances such as a light over the mirror where the hairdryer was. Bathroom was fully renovated but was a tiny bit damp but we were in the basement so that could have been a factor. Overall I would stay here again.

Clean and stylish but very small.

Room was nicely decorated but was very small and got incredibly hot through the night. The bed was very small (I’m not the tallest person) but my feet touched the wall when laid down. My sleep wasn’t great, primarily due to a guest setting off the fire alarm but appreciate the hotel has little to do with this. All the staff I encountered were really friendly and helpful and the hotel was generally clean and well presented.

The room was small but perfect for one person. It would have been nice to have at least a complimentary bottle of water. Also, there is no elevator on the property. This wasn't too much of an inconvenience for me since I only had 1 piece of luggage, but this could be a problem for those with a lot of large luggage and mobility challenges. The property is a short walk to the King's Cross-St. Pancras subway station. The hotel area is quiet but close to shopping area, food and cafes. I recommend this hotel for short trips.

Avoid until construction works next door finish

Massive construction project works happening literally next door to the building and my room! Clearly should have been offered some kind of discount, luckily I had to leave early otherwise I would have been waken up when the building started and if I was on a leisure trip that would have been very frustrating.

The room I was given was pretty much a cupboard. It had a false wall with a main door behind it and so much noise came in. The room was freezing cold and the aircon was on the whole time and I could not turn it off. The room was also very untidy with paint everywhere.

No contact could be made prior to arrival. Phones not working. I needed to confirm late check in. No lifts offered to me. Room was not clean as should have been. Smoke alarms went off at 4am. Cost was extortionate for the level of this hotel. It was a back street B&B at best.

The stay was awful, the room stank of sewage and the toilet was unbearable. I asked for a new and told there wasn’t one. The receptionist knew there was an issue as he just left us standing there at check saying nothing and came back with air spray.l which he tried to hide at the bar. It was late so couldn’t find anywhere else to move. There was a leak at the back of the toilet with water and no plug for the sink. I would like some compensation and this was a health and safety concern and no help from the staff. Not his fault but not helpful.
