It was a quiet area. Unfortunately I booked this room a day earlier than I actually arrived…paid in full 6 months prior to arrival and was not allowed to change the original reservation by one day. Staff would not return any emails to Expedia or myself. The hotel only changed the linens and did a “thorough” clean once on an eleven day stay. I was happy that I only saw one silverfish through out the stay.

An excellent base for exploring Amsterdam! In a quiet area but surrounded by lively cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Two key tramlines that you will certainly utilize (especially the 14 and the 1,7,19) are mere minutes away. Staff extremely friendly and helpful (thank you Mikael and Hassan!). Rooms clean and comfortable with English television programming to chill to after long days sight-seeing. We heartily endorse this fine property!

Second time staying at the Wittenberg. Close enough to walk 30 min to Amsterdam Centraal and the busy core of Amsterdam. Yet, it was nice to come back to the quiet area where the Witteberg is located. Very helpful staff. Would stay a third time.

We loved our stay at The Wittenberg. The highlights were: - Great room and facility, even better than the pictures. - Located on a beautiful, quiet, street/canal. Most other hotels in Amsterdam are on very loud streets. - Located right next to a great tram route. - 15ish minute tram or 30ish minute walk to all the major areas and attractions. - Located right next to a good size Albert Heijn (main grocery store chain). - Great takeout pizza place across the street for last minute dinner. - 5 minute walk to the awesome Artis Zoo. - Friendly and helpful staff. You wont regret choosing this spot for your trip to Amsterdam.

Friendly staff, great and neat rooms, close to the heart of the city so that we could walk anywhere we needed, and at the same time located in a calm neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend!

Linen was not changed for 10 days. King bed was reserved but there was only a queen bed in room. Instructions for washer/dryer was not readily available. There should also be a welcome booklet printed and placed in room with information to assist visitors

This is an apartment hotel. Great for longer stays but realize that it’s not a hotel with daily towel or bed changing services. That being said, it’s great for what it is. Beautiful apartments that I would stay in again.

It was in a quiet part of Amsterdam yet very walkable to the train station and the heart of Amsterdam. Lovely property. The only thing I wished was that the apartment had air conditioning. Other than that, pleased with our stay.

Yes, the property was unique. My unit was huge with a high ceiling. But obviously anti-sanitarian condition of dining table and chairs (they have been change upon my second request), no toaster, microwave and even ladle in “fully equipped kitchen”, no detergents for cleaning bathroom (“if you need, you have to purchase it by yourself”), no other alternative but very warm blanket do not follow four stars “highly rated” hotel.
