8/10 Good

Owners were congenial and engaging. Stopped to speak to you every chance. They have only had the property three years after a period of neglect. Chris, the owner, says he is making updates. Our unit, number 8, had some rust stain in the bathroom sink and the toilet was one of the old fashioned low to the floor types. Given the number of retirees I saw, I think replacing these toilets with taller more modern units is the way to go. I told Christ this and he said it was already on his list of things to do. There were sufficient pans, pots, plates etc., including even some steak knives. The WiFi was adequate for my tablet and the cell access (AT&T) worked. The resort is pet friendly and our lakeside deck was fenced to create a run for our dog. Furniture was comfortable, as was the bed. Counter space was sparse, but that's a function of the A-frame design. We spent a lot of time on the deck thoroughly enjoying the peace and quiet and the view. If you just want to get away, this is the place. A little over priced for Branson, but all in all good value. Chris's wife, Belinda, has a delightful Australian accent and we spent some time talking about her home country. Some of our neighbors said they return to Calm Waters many times during the season. For us, from Kansas City, the 3 1/2 hour drive would not allow that frequency.
