Just outside the main strip of Paihia which was perfect for a quieter stay - but still right across the road from a beautiful beach. Very accommodating and helpful staff at reception. Small supérette two doors down. Might suggest walking to town during busy times or if a cruise ship is in.

Loved the two bedroom suite. It has lots of space, separate beds for kids and separate room for parents. One bathroom. Has living space, dining space, kitchen with laundry. It is a bit older but well maintained. Hotel can be easily missed and is right beside a gas station and in front of the beach which was convenient. It is away from the main wharf but only minutes drive.

Misleading Photo

Our stay at the Sea Spray was not as the image on our confirmation of our room showed. We payed premium money to look at a parking lot. The photo showed second floor with a view of the water. Misleading. The apartment was spacious and clean.

Cute old motel that has been completely renovated to a wannabe Miami South Beach style. Well equipped little kitchen. My only complaint is that the wifi is so spotty that it might have well been non-existant. Laundry facilities were convenient.

Nice hotel on the coast

This was a really comfortable hotel right near all of the area's attractions and amenities. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a good stay. We appreciated the comfortable bed and pillows. We would certainly stay here again.

Waterfront location is fantastic

with a 10 min walk from town( down hill) the location is outside of town but a lovely stroll to town. we had a water view room.... spectacular to see the cruise ships !!

Great location, friendly staff

We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff is friendly and helpful, with plenty of recommendations of what to do in the area. The room was very nice and clean with modern kitchen and bathroom. Would recommend!

exceeded expectations

arrived late, but no problem checking in, very friendly staff, room was a comfortable one bedroom suite in a motel configuration, close to beach, restaurants and activities, highly recommend this hotel if you are not necessarily looking for a beachside or beachview (they do have some beachview suites that looked good)...nice outdoor patio outside bedroom for breakfast, room had refrigerator and cooking facilities, was clean and comfortable.

Sea Spray Suites: a walk on the beach

We arrived late on Sunday night, got our key,and found our room perfectly situated right by the carpark we found. We loaded everything inside and looked around this beautiful suite. We used the amazing shower which had just the right amount of pressure,then went to bed. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable as our new pillowtop but was entirely satisfactory. When we awoke we went for a walk on the beautiful Paihia beach just enjoying God's creation,then made it back in time to check out for 10. The stay for our two-year anniversary was great!

Home away from home.

This hotel is more like a mini personal apartment. You have a small kitchenette, separate bedroom, living room and washroom. It was comfortable and nice to have the extra space. Terraces appear to either face the bay, or the motel on one side, and car repair shop on the other. The terraces are large with table to dine. Keep in mind to select the bay view if this is your preference. The wharf and supermarket are each five minute walk away. As for staff rating, there isn't staff to interact with given the set up, as many of these inns in NZ only have reception between 8 AM and 7 PM, hence i give a 3 to make it average, however this does not detract from the stay. There are laundry facilities available for three dollars a wash. I would recommend staying here. It was roomy and comfortable in the quieter side of Paihia.

Wish we could have stayed longer

Loved the A/C as it was hot when we arrived. The room was well appointed and very clean. We were on ground level near the staircase but were not bothered by others using the stairs as the bedroom was at the back. However we were only there one night. Loved the proximity to the beach and the easy access to the car ... but parkiing was a little tight. Gas station next door was a convience for us and did not detract from our enjoyment. The small bakery on the corner had marvellous cream cheese and cranberry muffins. WE found a grocery store and were able to cook a simple dinner with the items supplied. Would be a nice touch if salt and pepper were left in the unit. Would recommend this place to others.

Relaxed, well appointed units in a good location.

Sea Spray is a well appointed, very modern complex well located on the beach in Pahia and within a leisurely stroll from the main restaurants, ferry, tour boats, etc. We had a main floor unit with a lovely private patio in the shade were we ate breakfast and dinners when we didn't eat out. The kitchen was well set up and the furnishings were comfortable and very up-to-date. Very close to excellent golf at Wiatangi and lovely parks and walks on the Wiatangi grounds.

Don’t book for more than two people.

Booked a room for three. Only a bed for two was prepared despite paying and booking for three. The sofa bed which can hardly be named a bed (I felt only the construction and no mattress!) had dirty sheets. At the reception they told us the third person was expected to stay in the double bed with the two people. Absolutely rude and no free one person night was provided. At least new sheets were provided but only the next day. Also it’s next to a gas station, don’t recommend staying there.
