Staff were great and friendly. Room was very nice and hotel in ideal location with grocery store across street. Queen street is only one block down and is the shopping area. Loved it was so close to waterfront and lots of dining options.

They give me a room they tell me this is upgraded room which there is no air condition in the bedroom. I told them I don’t need an upgraded room with no air conditioning in the room. I need one with air conditioning in the bedroom. They tell me we don’t have I spend the night. I couldn’t sleep the hotel is very old the apartment the bed it’s not bad but everything else it’s very old.

This was advertised as as a 4 star accommodation. The carpets and furniture was filthy. There were many small maintenance issues ( sliding door did not lock, room door safety latch broken, bathroom sink would not drain,etc). The hotel was in a great location, and has the potential to be a 4 star. It is in great need of a renovation. The front reception staff were kind.

Great location and spacious room, but we booked it for the kitchen: the markings on the oven had worn off so we couldn’t tell what the three dials did let alone set a temperature; the cupboards were so poorly installed that the dishwasher door wouldn’t close so it was unusable too (and, eg, the dish cupboard had to be closed to open the cutlery drawer). And we got three emails about the deposit but no warning that they like to photocopy passports—the only NZ hotel of four we stayed in that asked for that. And one morning someone above us threw a chair off their balcony—it landed on the roof of a building just below ours. Overall, kind of seedy and definitely rundown.

The location is terrific because it is in easy walking distance to the downtown core and waterfront, but enough away from the noise. The parking is very convenient, and there are two coffee shops right downstairs. There is a washing machine in the suite, and the kitchenette came in very handy. I recommend this place

Underwhelming. I’d look elsewhere, especially if you’re staying for more than a couple days and want parking (quite expensive). The worst part was the bed that must be at least 5 years past needing replacement. The springs were long past giving any type of support and immediately collapsed into a dip. I’ve had better quality at roadside motels.

Passing Through

For a 1 night stopover, this was excellent but would be even better for an extended stay. Good facilities (nice washing machine but no coffee maker or frying pan), friendly concierge staff. Location is extremely central but building is quiet (well built).
