Very good

The hotel is in the center of the town. There was a market on in the square but the double window kept any noise outside. The shower was one of the best ever. All the staff were lovely.

Close to the river, spots and pubs.

This is a great spot to lay your head for a night. The breakfast was good comfort food to nurse a hangover after spending a night out at the pubs. Nothing bad here. A straight forward hotel. Good shower pressure.

Central hotel free parking

The hotel is in easy walking distance to interesting sites and restaurants in Athlone. The wifi in the room wasn't good though perhaps it's better during the week. the front desk staff were helpful & pleasant. The room was large with lots of space for us & our luggage.

Disappointing reception, when we mentioned the room was smoky she just shrugged and said some people smoke with the window open, we are allergic to smoke so could barely breath by morning. Also when we left the room to take our bags to the car when we came back to the room the maid was in the room sttipping down the beds, we hadnt checked out yet

For my wife and I, The Prince of Wales Hotel in Athlone was a last minute stopover on our way back from the West Coast to Dublin. We were very pleased with what we got for a very reasonable price.

close to all shops and the Athlone Castle

i enjoyed it very much, the people were all very, very friendly, house keeping was terrific, no matter what time we left the room, when we came back it was always, clean. The hotel had breakfast, lunch and dinner available as well as entertainment in the bar part, it is an awesome sight to see, I have not seen a hotel and eating part as elaborate as the Prince Of Wales, very fancy. I loved the different levels it had.
