Favorite place to stay because of very affordable room rates.
.like the walkable parks nearby the subway and buses for quick transportation and the best is the food cuisine nyc has to offer
Great location close to subway, Central Park and Broadway. Gym and pool were fabulous. Reception staff were very helpful. Rooms and bathrooms are older, often things didn't work eg lamp or no chair in the room and the bathrooms were cramped.
First thing first, they charge an extra 10 dollar per night when you check in. Then Very tiny and old room. Noisy window A/C unit.

I didn't like at all that the bathroom & room doors were constantly slamming shut in a very loud way; & the YMCA should find an expert to fix that type of terrible problem. Otherwise, constantly banging doors shut can keep their paying guests from falling asleep & getting some rest at night.
I called several times and could not reach the ymca west side. No one seems to ever answer the phone nor did I know how to leave a message. I could not utilize my reservation, at the last minute and wanted to communicate this and ask to see if I could transfer it to a date next week.
Room is good but pillow is very uncomfortable. Three bathroom stalls but only one closes, three shower stalls but only one has decent pressure. One night I had to shower with no hot water. Front desk won’t call you a taxi and you have to pay $4 dollars per bag for them to keep it if you come early for check out
The room was clean. The toilets, showers and sinks were not clean. The mats at the gym were not clean either. The a/c in my room was not working properly but it got the room cool enough. The a/c was extremely noisy. The blinds in the room were broken. The hallway was terribly noisy. The rooms are mainly occupied by young students and most of them did lack respect by playing music with their room door open for every body to hear or setting up their speakers in the bathrooms. I was staying for a week. Every morning, evening and night, students would knock at my door thinking it was one of their fellow’s room or they would just knock for fun and run away.

Budget lodging near Lincoln Center
The M7 and M11 stop at the corner on Broadway.
There is no restaurant in the buildlng.
I stayed in room 824. The safe was large enough for a 13-inch laptop. The television linked to news. There was an attractive mirrro.
The bed was uncomfortable. There was no sheet. The mattress was lumpy. I had trouble finding any position for sleep. The chain lock was missing a bolt; it could not be locked.
Great location. Gym access huge plus. Wish bath mats were provided for shared bathroom.

I am a women in my mid thirties. I stayed here for a couple of days in the end of May. The room was small with no bathroom. The pillow was quite uncomfortable. Fortunately, the aircon worked perfectly well. The room seemed pretty clean as well.
Now for the facilities. The womens bathroom was cleaned on a regular basis. However, I saw a cockroach there during my second night. The staff promised me they would take care of it. The swimming pool was excellent. The womens wardrobe was clean with hundreds of lockers.
Speaking of the staff - they did an excellent job. I felt welcomed and safe. They helped me out if I had any questions or concerns. I find that a huge plus since English is not my first language.
The location of this hotel is top notch. I was able to find this despite it being my first time in NYC. The subways and Central Park are VERY close to the hotel. There were several restaurants, a Target plus a Sephora nearby too.

Quick and easy! The Y is no frills and most importantly “ECONOMICAL”
I appreciate there service for the price.
Only situation that was a bit annoying was the person at the luggage storage. A little bully and not pleasant at all. The younger lady was lovely and helpful. My only complaint
