The air conditioning only exists in public spaces. The website mentions car rental- non existent. No restaurant. Some staff member might make breakfast. Front desk had wrong checkout day so key card stopped working so we were locked out of the hotel.

This property did not address our special requests adequately. Asked for a low floor room (so that my wife could access the room without using the elevator). Our provided room was 8th floor and they had no solution for my wife to use the stairs. The only option they said was a 4th floor room that was flooded and out of service. They even suggested I cancel booking and go elsewhere. This all came out after a 24hr flight. I finally showed them a way my wife could use the stair well so we stayed. The air conditioning was not working both days. 28°C They should have advised me in advance with the advice to cancel, not when I arrived. Staff we met were polite, and provided a fan, but the property failed us.

The hotel backed on to a very nice park, on a quiet street in downtown Auckland. It’s close to practically everything, shopping, restaurants, waterfront…. Will stay there again when we are next in Auckland

A great hotel, the rooms are beautiful, the location is perfect (for anyone with kids there is a playground right behind the hotel), there's also an outdoor swimming pool & a hot tub. I will always stay at Parkside Hotel - it's my favourite hotel.

Great hotel on a quiet street, very close to everything in the CBD. Lovely balcony, specious bathroom and nicely equipped kitchenette. We had everything we needed for a memorable stay in Auckland. Will be looking to book again, next time we visit here.

The spa tub can be very dangerous, because there are no handholds to get in and out. If the bathroom floor is wet, there is nothing to prevent a fall.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Front desk personnel were friendly, courteous and were eager to please. Would be good if management could train front desk staff to be more familiar with what is around/near to your property to be better at recommending places to go or get things from. Parking is not easy and a bit of a concern especially if you are not used to right hand drive and parking in smaller parking lot sizes than in North America.

The staff and location of the property were excellent. The condition of the public areas of the property was excellent and I would give it 10/10. The room was advertised as an executive suite. It was a suite and somewhat large but it certainly was not "executive" standard. The upholstered furniture was poor, worn, and needs replacing. The carpeting was normal indoor/outdoor carpet. I have experienced better in a standard motel room. There was little to no artwork, fridge was overcome with frost, kitchen appliances were standard, kitchen equipment was inadequate - for example utensils and dishes consisted of two plates, two small bowls, two cups, two glasses, two knives, two forks, three spoons (one soup, one large, and one tea). Totally inadequate to be classed as "executive". Chairs are not provided for the balcony. An extra blanket for use in the living room would be nice. Overall, not what I expected.
